Como se não bastassem os aliciantes para consumirmos alimentos mais baratos e de menor qualidade nutritiva, os restantes também necessitam da nossa atenção.

Um estudo recente conduzido pela psicóloga Filipa Jardim da Silva revela que quase dois terços das mulheres portuguesas (64%) já sofreram ou sofrem de insultos ao seu corpo.
Segundo a Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses, body shaming consiste numa forma de agressão que envolve criticar ou humilhar alguém através de comentários negativos e depreciativos acerca do corpo ou aparência física.
Estas agressões podem ser feitas em público, em privado, por mensagem ou nas redes sociais, mas também podem ser autoinfligidas.
Em consequência do body shaming, a maioria das mulheres tende a esconder o seu corpo:
67% das vítimas de body shaming admite esconder o corpo devido aos comentários de que foi ou é alvo;
58% das vítimas faz dieta como comportamento consequente das críticas que recebe;
21% deixou de sair de casa ou evita ao máximo fazê-lo;
19% das mulheres que sofreu body shaming usa roupa larga e mais escura, que tape ou disfarce o seu corpo;
18% edita as fotografias antes de partilhar, em consequência do body shaming;
4% das vítimas realiza cirurgias plásticas devido aos insultos que recebeu à sua aparência;
Apenas 25% das mulheres adora o seu corpo tal e qual como é.
A psicóloga Filipa Jardim da Silva traduz estes números nesta conversa.
