  • Emerging Markets Suck In $17.9 Billion During October
    Data from Institute of International Finance showed that emerging markets sucked in $17.9 billion of portfolio flows in October, up from $7.5 billion the month before, buoyed by an improving outlook for the global economy and strength of the tech sector.
    Debt accounted for the majority of inflows, mostly to emerging Asia and China, as investors were attracted by a steady pipeline of external issuance. Debt inflows were around $11.7 billion during the month.

  • Europe To Provide Mozambique With $116 Million In Virus Aid
    EU Ambassador Antonio Sanchez-Benedito Gaspar on Monday said the European Union has agreed to provide Mozambique with 100 million euros ($116.30 million) in coronavirus-related aid.
    The EU cut off direct budget support to Mozambique in 2016 after the country revealed the existence of hefty state-guaranteed loans that it had not previously disclosed. A number of other donors including the International Monetary Fund also halted aid to Mozambique.

    The electoral commission in Ivory Coast says President Alassane Ouattara has won a third term, securing just over 94% of the votes in Saturday's election, that the opposition boycotted.

    The Nigerians in Diaspora on Monday evening in a series of tweets on its handle said Egyptian authorities will deport seven #EndSARS protesters for lack of resident permits and visas.
    The Chairman of the NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said the only Nigerian among them who has residency permit will get final clearance from the Egyptian Interior Minister, Mahmoud Tawfik after signing an undertaking not to be involved in any unauthorised activities while still in the country.
