Behind every first responder is a life beyond the uniform and often, a family navigating the realities that come with it.
In this episode, I sit down with my husband to have an honest conversation about what it means to be the partner of a female police officer. We explore communication, the impact of the job on our relationship, the challenges of carrying the weight of the uniform home, and why being able to talk openly with one another matters more than we realize.
We talk about the importance of showing up for each other, navigating the difficult days, and understanding that the impact of this career doesn't stop when the shift ends. Behind the badge, there is a person. And beside that person is often someone experiencing their own version of the story.
This episode is about partnership, communication, vulnerability, and the conversations that help us navigate a life shaped by service.
Because while one of us wears the badge, we both live the story.
In this opening episode, I share my story about grief, loss, and the moments in life that changed me forever. Through my own experiences, I explore what it means to build resilience through grief not by forgetting what we’ve lost, but by learning how to carry it with us.
This is a story about finding strength in the hardest moments, choosing to keep moving forward, and discovering that resilience isn’t about being unbreakable—it’s about learning how to rebuild.
This is raw and vulnerable and that is what we will strive to be as we move forward.
