Senator Dorgan joined Tyler to talk about the US Senate Judiciary hearings and the effort to end North Dakota's involvement in Texas led litigation challenging the pre-existing conditions portion of the Affordable Care Act.

Chaffee joins Tyler to talk about the recent opposition groups coming out against Measure 1.  Measure 1 would amend the North Dakota constitution to ban foreign money from state elections, restrict lobbying and create an independent ethics commission, among other provisions.

Backers call it an "anti-corruption" measure aimed at transparency.

But the ACLU says the measure is "poorly written" and restricts "political speech and advocacy."

Watne joined Tyler to talk about a federal judge upholding North Dakota's corporate farming law last week. The North Dakota Farm Bureau and several farmers filed a lawsuit in 2016, claiming the law is unconstitutional. The corporate farming law prohibits most corporations from farming or owning farmland in North Dakota, but small “family farms” are excluded. Watne and the NDFU were in support of the law and intervened in the federal lawsuit.
