Afternoons with Joon

Honestly should have titled this 5 Reasons why I LOVE the damn camera. The Fujifilm XT4 is really growing on me and I usually don't care about specs. It's truly a giant of a camera in a small form factor. It gives me images I love almost as much as the images from my Pocket 4K, but it's so much more convenient to use.

The way I see it, we were all caught up with hustle, grit, and grind that it became something so deeply marketed to creatives and we're seeing the negative effects of it. Now we're trying to pull back the culture the other way and bring back intentionality and taking time. I'm kind in the middle. I think we should still embrace the beauty of hustle. It really does teach discipline and there's nothing quite like working your ass off to the extreme limits of your mental and physical tenacity. But of course, we must be mindful of burnout and of hustling in the wrong direction. We must hustle with humility.

I hate the culture around self-help and self-development, but honestly hate is a pretty strong word. This episode draws from 5 other perspectives and makes me realize that it's part of the human experience to have a malleable opinion about things that aren't extremely important to our sense of selves. My opinion on inspirational quotes in no way defines me and I respect the opinions of the people who support me, so I'm willing to challenge my thoughts. I still find corny ones corny though. And gurus are still a little despicable.
