I hate to brag, but today for lunch I ate Chick-Fil-A in the parking lot of a Hobby Lobby. If that doesn't scream "Not Today Satan", I don't know what does.

Some good news after last year's cancellation: The State Fair of Texas is back!

Gates open September 24th and the fair will run through October 17th.

Maybe you have child or grandchild who's walked away. Walked away from God, walked away from you, maybe both. It's heartbreaking. I know this feeling well. Here's what I have learned: I don't have answers, but I understand that God understands. He hears my cries and my prayers and he hears yours just the same. I believe in God's faithfulness in my children's lives and you can too.

I can say this with confidence. Somewhere along the way, we've all failed. But it doesn't make you failure. We've all made mistakes, sometimes some pretty big ones. But that doesn't make you a mistake.

Sometimes the greatest act of faith looks like us remaining faithful exactly where we are!

If this is happening in your life, today is a great day to ask God to help you break this habit. Nothing good comes from the comparison game, for better or for worse, neither honor God and neither will make you happy!

Could there be anything more wonderful than being called a friend of God? We are, it says so in Psalm 25:14 "The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant." YOU are known as a friend of God today!

I've been walking though a pretty tough time with a close friend right now who's experienced a loss and I've come to the understanding that I need to trust God with other people. God loves our friends more than we do and will care for them better than we think we can. Let's not forget Jesus is the savior, not us.

My friend, Rebecca, from Morning's with Rebecca and Burns is a legit bible scholar. She knows the language and the translations but I think there's something I know that Rebecca doesn't!
