Some call it our inner critic, others say it's the enemy trying to gain a foothold. Regardless, that inner voice isn't a healthy one and doesn't speak truth. That voice says all the work is up to us and if we fall short, we've failed and our worth is lost. But I'm here to tell you today the one true God has done all the work. There's nothing to be earned and even when we do fall short, there's grace.

Here's the thing about prayer. Sometimes prayer changes our current situation, sometimes it doesn't right away. Our prayer may or may not change other people, but God always uses it to change us. Prayer is always worth our while.

We did our goodbyes on Friday, but it didn't really hit me till yesterday that my friend Lauree has moved on to her next radio chapter. I missing her today and you know what? That's okay.

Jesus loves to humanize the overlooked and dignify the disadvantaged. Maybe you feel unseen but take heart. Jesus knows you. You are famous in your father's eyes.

Sometimes life and the choices that we make out of fleshly desires lead us to those places where we look at ourselves in the mirror and we start believing about ourselves and our worth. About how ashamed we should be, about how God could never love us. I'm here to tell you right now that is a big, fat LIE.

Here is the truth: the enemy wants to define you by your wounds. But Jesus wants to define you by his wounds. That difference changes everything. That's good news.
