Episode 335

Speaker: Laurence Freeman OSB

Topic: One and the Many.  Unity of Faith-Diversity of Belief. Part 1.

Recorded in 2013.

Throughout the Gospels, Jesus makes it clear that his message is not confined to Israel, to one nation, or to one religious community.  His mission is toward the whole world, all people, and the unity of the human family under the wisdom that comes from God.  Choose cooperation over competition and work toward one human family.   Unity is not simply an inward religious experience; it is to become visible in human relationships, as a witness to the world

How good is that!   John 17: That they all might be One.  And study war no more.

Shalom, Archie and Cathy.

Episode 320

Speaker James Finley

Topic : Spiritual Guidance in the Contemplative Tradition. Part 1.

John 17:21–26 is one of the most remarkable passages in the New Testament because Jesus’ final prayer before his arrest is not primarily about the Church becoming successful, powerful, or even doctrinal uniform.                                          It is a prayer that humanity may rediscover the unity that already exists in God.

Humanity is created in the imago Dei, the image of God, our deepest identity is not competition, domination or fear. Our deepest identity is relational.

We come from love, live within love, and are invited to become love.

That makes Jesus' prayer in John 17 much bigger than a prayer for Christian unity.

It becomes a prayer for the healing and restoration of the human family.

We gradually discover that the life in God is not something we must achieve in order to keep God happy ;  it is something we are invited to receive and allow to grow within us so that Gods Human family can find happiness, and taste our deepest desire today.

Every Blessing to you and yours

Speaker: Edwina Gateley

Topic: Encountering God in the Modern World Part 3.

I once was told the reason Jesus scandalized the religious elite of his time, was that he took the blessing of Gods presence into circumstances and lives  they said that God would never bless.

Edwina did the same

Every Blessing
