Consumer directed care (CDC) is complex to implement at an infrastructure level and government could provide more flexibility and a better transition program.

These were the key points KinCare chief executive Jason Howie raised at the recent Consumer Directed Care Summit in Sydney.

Speaking to Aged Care Insite at the event, Howie said: “A lot of organisations haven’t got the resources internally to do the work that may be needed.” In the interview, he discussed the problems organisations are facing, including a lack of IT support in terms of infrastructure and development.
