In this episode, I unpack a mindset I didn’t realize I’d been carrying for years: the idea that being grateful means I shouldn’t want anything different. Maybe you’ve told yourself you should be grateful for your job, your family, your opportunities, or the life you’ve built, even when something isn’t working for you anymore. But what happens when gratitude starts sounding a lot like guilt?
I explore how we can use other people’s struggles to invalidate our own needs, and why empathy doesn’t require us to deprive ourselves or carry circumstances that aren’t ours to carry. I talk about the difference between gratitude and guilt, how this shows up in everything from work and money to relationships and rest, and why you can appreciate what you have while still wanting something different.

In this episode, I tell you about the moment I found myself standing in front of a cryotherapy chamber, already convinced I knew exactly how it was going to go. Maybe you’ve had a moment like that, too, when your brain tells you something is too hard, too uncomfortable, or simply not for you before you’ve even tried. But how often do we let those assumptions make decisions for us, and what might we be missing because of it?
I share what this unexpected experience reminded me about the stories we tell ourselves, the way our brains respond to discomfort, and the opportunities we might miss when we decide the outcome before we begin. I explore how to recognize the difference between a genuine limit and an assumption, and leave you with a question to help you reconsider something you may have already ruled out.

In this episode, I challenge the idea that knowing your values is the same as actually living by them. You might say family, health, faith, or hard work matters most to you, but what happens when something else asks for your time, energy, or attention? If you’ve ever said yes to something that pulled you away from what matters most, this episode will help you look at your values in a much more practical way.
I talk about how to uncover what you actually value by looking at what you resent giving up, when you feel most like yourself, and the decisions you’re proud of even when they disappointed someone else. I share a coaching example that shows how a good opportunity can still be the wrong fit, and explain how to turn vague value words into specific rules that guide your decisions. I also talk about how boundaries protect your values and why your values should show up in your calendar, your conversations, and what you say yes and no to.

In this episode, I challenge the idea that saying yes automatically makes you helpful, dependable, or a good person. Sometimes we say yes because we genuinely want to help, but sometimes we’re saying yes because we don’t know how to say no without feeling guilty. If you’ve ever found yourself overcommitted, exhausted, or resentful because you were trying to keep everyone happy, this episode will help you rethink what your yes really means.
I talk about the difference between guilt and shame, and how guilt can become a compass that quietly runs our decisions. I share why pausing before you answer can give you space to consider your values, your priorities, and the people who matter most. We also talk about letting other people experience disappointment, choosing short-term discomfort over long-term resentment, and making decisions intentionally instead of building a life around everyone else’s expectations of you.

In this episode, I share a story about a lion on the loose in Indiana that turned out to be something very different, and it got me thinking about how often we do the same thing in our own lives. We get a piece of information, fill in the blanks, and suddenly our brains have created an entire story about what is happening. If fear has you convinced you're stuck, behind, or facing an impossible situation, this episode will challenge you to pause, look again, and question whether you're actually seeing the whole picture.
I talk about how to separate what you know from what you think and how changing your perspective can reveal options you couldn't see before. I share a coaching example about a farmer struggling to acquire more farmland and walk through the questions that helped him look at the situation differently. I also explore how to gather more information, consider different angles, challenge the stories we're telling ourselves, and recognize when what feels like rejection or a dead end might actually be information or redirection.

In this episode, I share a lesson I learned from a batch of very flat biscuits: sometimes you're doing everything you think you're supposed to be doing and still not getting the result you want. If you've been working harder, checking the boxes, and wondering why things still aren't working, this episode will challenge you to stop assuming you need to try harder and start asking a better question: What needs to change?
I talk about how small adjustments can completely change an outcome, why sometimes the problem isn't you but the circumstances around you, and how to identify the “ingredients” that are producing your current results. I also share questions to help you assess where you are, what's currently going into your recipe, and what might need to change. Sometimes you don't need a whole new recipe. You just need the right ingredient.

In this episode, I share the story of a woman who came into the AgriMinds Experience feeling tired, underappreciated, and like she had lost a part of herself at work. If you've ever thought, “I don't have my spark anymore,” this episode will challenge you to look beyond simply quitting your job and get curious about what's really draining you, what energizes you, and what you need to feel like yourself again.
I talk about the importance of getting to the root of what's making you unhappy, becoming clear about what you want instead, and learning to communicate what you need. I also share three questions to help you start getting your spark back. Whether you need to have a tough conversation, set a new boundary, make a change in your current role, or eventually make a career move, I explain why your next step should come from clarity, not desperation.

In this episode, I challenge you to consider how much of your life you're actually experiencing when your mind is stuck in yesterday or tomorrow. We all have things worth planning for, preparing for, and reflecting on, but when planning becomes worrying and reflection becomes rumination, we can miss the only moment we actually have. If you've ever spent a Sunday worrying about Monday, replayed a difficult conversation, or found yourself physically present but mentally somewhere else, this episode will help you come back to today.
I share three simple ways to stop letting stress steal the present: getting into the present, getting what's on your mind out of your head, and getting support when you need it. I talk about grounding yourself in what's happening around you, using a brain dump to free up mental space, and finding someone who can simply listen when you need to talk something through. Most importantly, I challenge the difference between being prepared and being preoccupied, because you can prepare for tomorrow without letting preparation cost you your presence.

In this episode, I continue unpacking the beliefs that have been passed down through agriculture and ask a bigger question: just because we’ve always believed something, does that mean we need to keep believing it?
In Part 2 of this two-part series, I unpack beliefs eight through 15 and challenge the ideas that asking for help means you’ve failed, emotions don’t belong in agriculture, and you should already know everything. These beliefs can shape how we lead, handle pressure, build relationships, and define what it means to be strong.
I talk about why asking for support can make you a stronger leader, how delegation builds people instead of dependence, and why communicating your value isn't the same as bragging. I also dig into emotional intelligence, protecting your boundaries during busy seasons, honoring tradition while staying open to growth, and the importance of staying curious when you don't know the answer. Most importantly, I challenge you to recognize the beliefs that may be keeping you stuck so you can decide what you want to carry forward and what you're ready to leave behind.

In this episode, I challenge some of the beliefs that have been passed down through agriculture for generations. In Part 1 of this two-part series, I unpack the first seven of 15 unwritten rules that have shaped how we define strength, success, dependability, and commitment, but are now keeping us stuck. If you've ever been told to “suck it up,” felt guilty for saying no, or believed exhaustion is proof you're working hard enough, this conversation will make you question what you've always accepted as normal.
I talk about why asking for help isn't weakness, the difference between complaining and communicating, how boundaries protect reliability, why investing in yourself matters as much as investing in your operation, and why sustainable hard work matters more than exhaustion. I also dig into the pressure to put yourself last for your family and the fear of “rocking the boat.”
