Anything that can increase your chances of killing weeds and harvesting a healthy, economical, and bountiful crop is worth it. Because, many times once the chemical is paid for the best management practices are a no cost to you. Soybean weed management is a real issue and we hope you learn something on things like timing your Liberty application to in season decisions of historical residual and sensitivity of crops to certain pesticides.

Celena (Kipping) Hawkins and Alex Long who are both Field Agronomists for Beck's Hybrids join me to talk Nitrogen challenges in corn. This is not a new problem, nor is it new in its research and study. However, we want you to understand the parts you can NOT control so it can help you take action on the parts you can control. The challenges we have is not theory, however; but in practice for your farm at the time you need it. Hopefully, this video can help you navigate these waters in this season. Good luck to you and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out anytime!

Soybean diseases affect late season stalks and leaves. This can create "trashy" soybeans that are hard to feed through the combine and create a lot of dust and dirt. Soybean yields are affected greatly by plant dates due to placing the plant at a time when it can harvest the highest quality light. Scott Dickey regional agronomy manager with Beck's Hybrids and also Celena, our local Beck's Hybrids agronomist joins me on this beautiful day in a soybean plot to talk about farming and how it makes a difference in what you do on your corn or soybean crop. Soybeans can easily be affected by Sudden Death Syndrome, Brown Stem Rot, Dectes Stem Borer, and Charcoal Rot depending on weather, disease fusarium that is present in the soil, and rain fall. Also, spraying for insects at R3 may hold you from Stink Bug (and other pod sucking insects) but an eye needs to be kept open as weather can also affect the ability of these "critters" to make a comeback at times.
