Dragon heads to the beach at sunset and finds Fernando, Felicity, and Franetta, the peeper frogs!
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:02
Sunset Serenade Excerpt:
Dragon stepped outside the cave and listened. Many sounds traveled across the evening air. In the distance, Dragon could hear crickets chirping and the sleepy croak of a toad. Evening was an interesting time in the forest. Some animals were just waking up. Others were tucking themselves in for the night.
Next, Dragon sniffed the cool air and caught hints of pine needles, damp earth, and the far-off tang of salty ocean spray. A smile spread across Dragon’s face. Yes, the beach was calling tonight. So, with a spring in step, the little dragon set off on the familiar path to wait for the train.

When Ronald the Roller rushes through his work, his friends help him remember that going slow and steady builds the strongest sidewalks.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:47
Slow Your Roll! Excerpt:
The sun peeked through the cracks in the garage door, making stripes of light fall across Ronald’s big front wheel. The roller yawned a big, sleepy yawn. It always took him a few minutes to wake up all the way, but right now, he already felt excited for what the day held.
Ronald had overheard the construction crew talking yesterday. They were going to start work on a new sidewalk today. But this wouldn’t be just any sidewalk. This one would follow the river, winding along the water’s edge. People would be able to walk there, enjoying the peaceful view as they strolled from place to place. Ronald smiled just picturing it. He couldn’t wait to get started.

Prince Grey and Cashew, the little kitties, notice something new and interesting on the ceiling.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 3:10
Glittering Light Excerpt:
It was a quiet afternoon on Ahway Island. Sunshine streamed into the cozy house, filling it with golden light. Prince Grey Kitty was curled up in a warm sunbeam on his favorite chair. The chair had flat wooden arms which Prince Grey could sit on and survey his realm, and it had a soft red cushion on the seat that the little cat could snuggle into for a lovely nap.
At first, the sunlight touched only Prince Grey’s back paws, making them toasty warm. But while Prince Grey was sleeping, the sunlight had moved slightly so that, slowly but surely, the sunbeams began covering his entire body, warming his fur, until finally, the beams shined into his face. The bright light in his eyes woke up the little kitty from his nap.

Ian is excited that Mike is coming to play, but has a hard time waiting for his friend to arrive.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 4:10
Passing Time Excerpt:
Ian was excited this morning. Today, Mike was coming over! Ian was excited to see his friend again. He got dressed and checked the clock in his room. Mike was coming over at 2 o’clock, but the clock showed it was only 9 o’clock. Ian sighed. It would be a long wait before Mike arrived.
Ian wandered downstairs for breakfast. He prepared some food for himself, then sat down to eat. As he ate, he kept glancing at the clock. The first time he looked, it said 9:15. Then a little later, it said 9:25. Ian kept eating, and when he looked again, it said 9:30. He ate a little more and looked one last time. The clock said 9:32.

Luis and Eddie come up with an idea to share with the community!
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:10
Critter Camera Excerpt:
Eddie thought for a moment. “Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could watch animals come to the garden without them seeing us? Like…with a hidden camera or something.”
Luis’ eyes lit up. “Yes! Like spies!” he exclaimed.
“You actually might be onto something,” said Mr. deSouza. “That’s a real thing. It’s called a wildlife camera. They use it to film animals without bothering them.”

A tiny seed falls into a crack in the sidewalk. How will it grow when it’s so dry and cramped there?
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 4:04
Sidewalk Sprout Excerpt:
A small brown seed lay tucked between two segments of cement. Earlier that week, a breeze had carried it from somewhere far away and dropped it right into the crack in the sidewalk. Then it rained, and water trickled down into it, waking the sleepy seed from its nap.
The seed had been surprised by the place it had landed. Above, people walked quickly past, carrying umbrellas to protect them from the rain. There were cozy little shops nearby, with windows full of treats and books. Sometimes the seed heard a honk from a car or the jingle of a doorbell. Oddly enough, the tiny seed couldn’t see any other plants like itself. This was a busy place – not a quiet garden, like the seed had expected. Still, it was quite interesting, and the seed longed to grow!

Penny Pillow explores the big beautiful world beyond the bed and meets a new friend.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:32
Beyond the Bed Excerpt:
Penny Pillow lived on the softest little bed in the world. Its clean white sheets and the other soft pillow friends who lived with Penny made the bed a cozy home. Penny loved her little bed. The bed was small but it was her special bed. She’d been there for as long as she could remember.
Penny Pillow was a little light blue pillow with white flowers. Her fresh stuffing made her as soft as can be! Her friend Paul Pillow was a big wrinkly grey pillow with older stuffing, but he was still soft enough to squeeze. He liked to sit at the head of the bed. Penny’s other friend, Patty Pillow, was a medium-sized white pillow who usually nestled in the corner of the bed.

Geena Grouse longs to meet another grouse, so she does a special call. Will she make a new friend?
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 4:02
Call and Answer Excerpt:
It was afternoon in the Ahway Island animal sanctuary. The weather was nearly perfect, with the sun shining brightly overhead. A few butterflies flitted over a patch of wildflowers growing along the bank of a small lake.
Geena Grouse was out and about scrounging for food. As she did this, she looked around, observing the world. She loved to see how everything changed from day to day as some plants grew, while others faded. It was interesting how different creatures lived their lives alongside her in the sanctuary.

Owen thinks a moonlight picnic sounds boring, but he discovers that there’s a lot of fun to be had in trying something new.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:55
Strawberry Moon Excerpt:
His parents exchanged a look. His dad came to sit next to him. “Owen…I know you think it will be boring. It’s okay to feel that way. But sometimes, when we try something new, we find it’s more fun than we expected.” Owen’s dad spoke calmly and gave him a smile. “Plus, your mom’s made some special moon-shaped sandwiches. Would you be willing to give it a try?”
Owen sighed. “Fine,” he muttered. But he didn’t feel fine. He felt sulky, a little nervous about the dark, and mostly certain he would not have fun.
