In a home that wasn't his, he'd taken hold,
A window smashed, the woman, she did see,
And quickly called the police, for all to be free.
The officers arrived, and loudly they called,
Instructing anyone inside, to come out and fall,
But there was no reply, so in they did go,
To search the home, from top to bottom, they did know.
And in the bathroom, they found a sight,
A man in the tub, with water shining bright,
Clothed and soaking, he refused to say,
Why he was there, in such a strange way.
His intentions unclear, he kept them tight,
His story untold, even in the bright light,
Of the police station, where he was brought,
He refused to talk, this man, he fought.

Of a man in a tub, and what he might have done,
Why he was there, why he was so wet,

  • 0041 — The Search for the Lost Radioactive Capsule
A poem about the loss and search for a highly radioactive capsule that fell off a truck during transport in Western Australia, causing public concern and an apology from the mining corporation's CEO.
    ---
A tiny capsule on a journey took,
From desert mine to city look.
    With radioactive content so rare,
Its loss caused public to beware.
It fell off on a road, what a shame,
Emergency services searched with great aim.
But the capsule they just couldn't find,
Leaving them and public quite unkind.
The size is small, just millimeters wide,
But the radiation it emits, can't be denied.
It's equivalent to ten X-rays in an hour,
And prolonged exposure could bring cancer's power.
The Western Australia emergency services, in a call,
Sought help from other states and federal, standing tall.
For the caesium 137 ceramic source, so bright,
Could cause skin burns, such a frightful sight!
The chief executive of the mining giant Rio Tinto Iron Ore,
Simon Trott, took this with much more.
He apologized for causing such concern,
And promised to rectify and return.
With efforts of the government, the states and all,
The capsule was found, and the public had no fall.
The danger of radiation was put to rest,
And the CEO, Simon Trott, with his apology was blessed.
So let this be a lesson to us all,
To handle hazardous substances, we must stand tall.
For safety of the public, must be our goal,
And to rectify any mistake, must be our role.

The Memphis Police Chief dissolved the city's Scorpion Unit after a video showed officers beating Tyre Nichols to death. The unit, whose aim was to target violent offenders in high-crime areas, was dissolved as a "proactive step in the healing process" and a move towards justice and accountability.
    ---
    The Scorpion unit was dissolved,
For beating a man to death,
A cloud of dishonor now surrounds,
    The Memphis police chief's breath.
The video was harrowing to see,
    It renewed calls for change,
    The community leaders and family,
All called for the unit to be estranged.
    Protestors cheered in the street,
As the unit was disbanded for good,
    A step towards healing,
And doing what's right we should.
Though the unit had noble aims,
To restore peace in our streets,
It's clear that the actions of a few,
Were not in line with what's right and neat.
With a new chief at the helm,
We hope for a brighter future still,
    Where justice and accountability,
    Will help us to heal.

  • 0037 — Trump's Facebook Return: A Fine Line to Tread
After a two-year suspension, Donald Trump's accounts on Facebook and Instagram are set to be reinstated in the coming weeks. However, the former President will have to tread a fine line as he faces heightened penalties for repeat offences and an exclusivity agreement with his own social media platform, Truth Social. The decision of whether to return to Facebook, with its vast reach, or continue with Truth Social, remains with him.
    ---
Donald Trump's ban is lifted with a flick,
Back on Facebook, what a trick,
But his words must now be meek,
Or face suspension in a heartbeat.
He can post and share with glee,
But crossing lines, he'll surely see,
His privilege revoked, oh so fleet,
For breaking rules, he'll take the heat.
Truth Social may be his safe haven,
But Facebook's reach, it cannot match,
He'll have to choose, to stay or leave,
In the court of public opinion, he'll have to grieve.
He may have five million fans,
    But Facebook's reach, it spans,
    Three billion users, that's grand,
A platform he must not abandon.
He signed an agreement, oh so tight,
To post first on Truth Social, what a fight,
But if he wants to win the next election fight,
    Facebook's reach, he must ignite.
He can wait until June to post,
Or take the risk and boast,
But if he flouts the rules, he'll be toast,
Suspended once again, at the most.
The ball is in his court, it's true,
Will he stay or will he pursue,
A return to Facebook, what will he choose,
Only time will tell, it's up to you.
So let's watch and see, with bated breath,
What move Donald Trump will make, with death,
To his exclusivity agreement, will he bequeath,
Or will he return to Facebook, with a wreath.

  • 0036 — Japan's Population Crisis: A Race Against Time
Japan's Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida, has issued a dire warning about the country's population crisis, stating that it is "on the brink of not being able to maintain social functions" due to the falling birth rate. The government has announced plans to set up a new agency in April to focus on the issue of child-rearing support and address the population decline. Japan's low birth rate and high life expectancy have resulted in a rapidly aging society, a shrinking workforce and not enough young people to fill the gaps in the stagnating economy.
    ---
In Japan, the population's in decline.
A dire warning, the Prime Minister did assign:
"On the brink of not being able to maintain social functions,"
He said, "it's now or never, this issue cannot wait for any conclusions."
Child-rearing support is our most important goal.
To keep our nation strong, and make it whole.
A new agency will be set up in April's breeze,
To focus on the population crisis, we must not freeze.
The high cost of living, limited space, and lack of care,
Make it hard for couples to raise a heir.
Fewer kids are born, the workforce shrinks,
The economy stalls, as the population blinks.
    Attitudes shift, more couples delay,
Work pressure and economic stagnation, make them dismay.
But the government is trying, with new initiatives in play,
To address the population decline, in every single way.
Rural towns have started paying couples to breed,
But the problem still persists, it's a difficult seed to seed.
Shifting demographics are a concern in other parts of East Asia too,
South Korea, China all facing similar issues, it's true.
But Japan must act fast, before it's too late,
To ensure a future for its citizens, before it's sealed their fate.
The average real annual household income declined,
As Japan's GDP growth slowed, it's hard to find.
But with new policies and support in place,
We can work towards a brighter future, and a better pace.
We must not let our nation fall,
    We must stand tall
    And take action now,
To secure our future, and take a vow.
To support families, and help them grow,
To keep our nation strong, and let it flow,
With new generations to lead the way,
We'll ensure a bright future, come what may.

Climate change is driving us all insane.

With winter tourism being its main satisfaction.
But as the weather continues to change,
Tourism may become an arrangement of derangement.

The temperature dropped to minus 53 degrees, so severe.
It beat the previous record in sixty-nine,
The cold wave is forecasted to last a long time.
    In neighboring Russia, Yakutsk too,
Saw temperatures drop to minus 62.7, oh boo.
It's the coldest in over two decades,
The weather is causing so many problems and hazards.
Ice fog and extreme cold weather,
    Are causing many troubles together.
The city is remote, but a new highway,
Connects it to the capital, Beijing, yay!
Climate change is making its mark,
Extreme weather events, a constant spark.
    Heat waves and cold snaps,
Are causing a lot of problems and mishaps.
We must take action and be aware,
To prevent further damage and despair.
Let's work together to save our planet,
For a better future, let's not be a runaway.
