OpenAI recently made headlines by announcing a groundbreaking deal to offer its ChatGPT Enterprise platform to U.S. federal agencies for just $1 per agency for the next year. The regular price for ChatGPT Enterprise is around $60 per user per month, meaning government agencies are getting the same package for drastically less. 

This move is part of a partnership with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) under the "OneGov" initiative, which aims to centralise technology procurement and accelerate the adoption of advanced AI tools across the federal government.

Agencies get full ChatGPT Enterprise access, which includes:

• Latest GPT models
• Unlimited usage
• Secure, enterprise-grade infrastructure
• Custom GPT creation
• Admin tools for data control
• 60-day special access to advanced features
• Dedicated onboarding and training through OpenAI’s government partners

ChatGPT-5 is here, and I’ve been testing it for the past five days. 

This is a remarkable statement from Altman about GPT-5. “It’s like talking to a legitimate PhD -level expert.”

It really makes you think about your value as a professional, doesn’t it?

So what are my thoughts after using it?

I got it to help me with my itinerary for my upcoming trip to LA and Las Vegas. This is a task I would normally delegate to my assistant Jess. And yes, I made my bookings after about 15 minutes of engaging with it. 

But then I decided to test it on a more serious level, checking how it would perform over a series of different reasoning and problem-solving tasks.

New rules now apply to general-purpose AI models, the very foundation of tools like ChatGPT and Gemini. Whether you’re training, deploying, or just integrating these models, your legal obligations have just changed. The new rules came into place as of August 2nd, 2025.

What’s Changed?
The  EU rules focus on three areas: transparency, copyright, and safety.

1. Transparency
   
   
   • Providers must disclose information about how the model was trained and designed.
     
     
   • That includes publishing a public summary of training data sources using a standard EU template.
     
     
     
2. Copyright Compliance
   
   
   • Any copyrighted content used in training must be properly documented.
     
     
   • This opens the door for rights-holders to make claims or demand compensation.
     
     
3. Technical Documentation
   
   
   • Detailed records about model training, function, and limitations are now mandatory.
     
     
4. Systemic-Risk Models
   
   
   • If your model exceeds 10²⁵ FLOP, that’s the EU’s risk threshold, you must notify the Commission and comply with additional safety and security rules.

Mark Zuckerberg released a video and letter on July 30, 2025, sharing Meta’s vision for “personal superintelligence” - a significant shift from the traditional centralised AI approach that most tech companies are pursuing.

Superintelligence refers to an artificial intelligence that surpasses human intelligence across every domain, not just maths or memory, but also creativity, decision-making, and social reasoning. It's the point at which machines are not just tools, but agents capable of independent thought, continuous self-improvement, and solving problems far beyond current human capability.

Adobe has integrated several AI-powered audio effects in its latest versions of Premiere Pro and Audition. These AI elements are designed to automate and dramatically improve audio enhancement, cleanup, and mixing tasks. 

Adobe has added several AI-powered features to make audio editing faster and easier, even if you're not an expert. These tools are found in the Essential Sound panel and can dramatically improve how your audio sounds with just a few clicks. I also love Adobe Podcast!

OpenAI has recently launched Study Mode, a new feature in ChatGPT designed to transform the AI chatbot from an answer-providing tool into an interactive educational tutor. This feature was officially rolled out on July 29, 2025, and represents OpenAI’s response to growing concerns about AI’s impact on education and students’ critical thinking skills.

How Study Mode Works

Study Mode operates on the principle of Socratic questioning, encouraging students to engage actively with the material rather than simply receiving direct answers. When enabled, the feature:

•Asks probing questions to assess the student’s current skill level and understanding

•Provides scaffolded responses that help students make connections with topics they already know

•Offers interactive prompts that guide users through problems step-by-step

•Sometimes refuses to provide direct answers unless students demonstrate engagement with the material

Peterborough City Council has created an AI chatbot called "Hey Geraldine", trained on the 35 years’ expertise of veteran therapy practitioner Geraldine Jinks. The aim is to allow social care colleagues to ask care-related questions instantly and at any time.

Hello and welcome back to AI SIX, the podcast that helps you embrace and implement AI in just six minutes a day.

Peterborough City Council in the UK has transformed the decades-long expertise of an experienced social care worker, Geraldine Jinks, into an AI chatbot designed to support fellow employees. After 35 years on the job, Jinks became a go-to source for colleagues seeking advice on everyday challenges in adult social care, resulting in significant demands on her time.

To address this, the council developed an AI chatbot called "Hey Geraldine." This digital assistant was specifically trained using Jinks’s own responses, ensuring that the advice retained her friendly and practical communication style. 

Jinks actively participated in the chatbot's development, writing all the responses herself. As a result, the AI can answer common care-related questions, such as supporting patients with memory issues or planning hospital discharges, instantly and consistently.
