Sadly it's the final episode of Sports Talk this week as Mat Gane and I were joined by two special guests this morning: Bryce Holdsworth from NRL Central QLD development unit, and Dean Stanstell from Tennis Maranoa to talk about the girls only tennis camp this weekend. We also talked about the Roma motorcycle club's MX series round 2 and the usual footy tips for the NRL and AFL, and what Cameron will be doing next.

A great segment, Ann Leahy came in this morning to discuss her attendance at the Shadow cabinet meeting in Townsville last week. Labour set to introduce compulsory preferential voting in local government elections and Rural Fire Brigade changes in their reporting procedures. Ann Leahy also talked about attending the opening of the Roma levee bank, stage 1&2.

Mat Gane came in this morning to talk all things to do with local sport. The Roma speedway has a race on this weekend. Echidnas are starting their season this week, playing against Highfields, Darling Downs Basketball trials in Toowoomba. We also gave out predictions for the first round of the NRL this week.

Ann Leahy Joined me from the Shadow Cabinet meeting in Townsville this morning. We talked about the amazing International Women's Day breakfast happening in Roma, Changes to the local council voting system and pub license fees for pubs and clubs in the Warrego will be exempt from the concessions.

I talked with Member for Warrego, Ann Leahy this morning about the reduction in concession fees for rural pubs. We also discussed the recent changes to the local government voting system and the Shadow Cabinet meeting in Townsville next week.

Mat Gane and I were joined by Keith Knight to talk about the 5th annual Kirstin Allbeck 9s rugby league tournament happening tomorrow. we also discussed the Roma Bowls club's mixed fours bowls carnival over the weekend.

I had a chat with Member for Warrego, Anne Leahy this morning about topics like International Women's day grants being awarded to local women's groups in the Maranoa and Balonne, regional transport plans to improve road conditions, appeals by some communities to lower the speed limits in their town. We also talked about Ann Leahy visiting Augathella next week unveiling a memorial to artist Bill Cox.

In this episode of Sports Talk Mat and I discussed the Maranoa Basketball club's special appearance at a Brisbane Bullets game. we also talked about the Bendemere cup, the upcoming club trials for various sports and A League fixtures this week.

Ann Leahy joined us from Brisbane this week. Some of the topics we discussed this morning include:

· The bill on non-consensual sharing of images.

· New health practitioners regulation bill.

· The bill on the waste levy (one of the five new taxes introduced by Labor.)

· The lack of competition in the energy sector in rural QLD according to a new report.

In St George, on March 30, a brand new memorial to commemorate the Amoy shepherds will be unveiled. It's believed it's a first for Chinese- Australian historical recognition. I recently had a chat with the St George Heritage advisor, Check Ling to talk about the history behind the Amoy shepherds and the event.
