AirWreckRadio episodes

  • L’Eglise a Des Assurances, Des Stupides!
On this episode of AirWreckRadio, Star Trek Discovery has finished up its second season, and Stacey has some thoughts on the show. Cory will, too, but he was waiting for the season to end to start watching. The show looks great, but the writers are swinging for the fences every minute of every episode, seemingly unaware that when you swing big all the time, you miss big many times.
In the news, there’s art all over the city of Rochester that was put their by an artist who, it turns out, is a horrible monster. Bummer.
Also in the news, bunch of tax evading rich people have benevolently ponied up over a billion dollars to rebuild the cathedral at Notre Dame, regardless of the fact that the Catholic Church is a giant, wealthy land-holding corporation. Also, the church is insured. Insurance can pay to rebuild. If rich people want to help, maybe they could just stop avoiding taxation so hard.
Closing things up, MIT economist, Jonathan Gruber, has written a book called “Jump-Starting America.” In his book he asserts that Rochester is a city primed to be a great city in the future. Cory thinks that’s ridiculous, but Stacey thinks Mr. Gruber might be on to something. The book, “Jump-Starting America,” is available on Audible, so expect Stacey to have read it by the next episode of AirWreckRadio!

  • S7E41 Death and Turbo Taxes!
On this episode of AirWreckRadio a church in France dies for our sins while three churches burn in Louisiana because some racist sheriff raised a racist son who thought burning black people’s churches would, I don’t know… show ’em? It’s pretty ridiculous, and nobody is talking about why that cop still has his job, or what we can to about white terrorists because we’re all too busy watching some humpback’s bell-tower be destroyed by lowest-bidder capitalism.

  • S7E39 Signs, Signs, Everywhere the Signs!
On this Episode of AirWreckRadio, Stacey sees the signs! While taking in the air on afternoon, he noticed his neighbor had put up a sign in his yard. That sign says “Divide New York,” advocating for the separation on New York City from the rest of the State. Agog, Stacey wonders who his neighbor thinks paid for most of the subsidies that that keep him in his home.
In the news, Anti-vaccers are just the worse, and in NYC they have now been offered the opportunity to pay cash for their idiocy! After a measles outbreak, mayor Rich-Pants MacGee has banned un-vaccinated people from the public, threatening a $1,000 fine for violators. Unfortunately, this happens to effect an community of ultra-orthodox Jewish people, who’s religion forbids vaccination. Here at AirWreckRadio, we think that’s tough cookies. Get Vaccinated.
Also in the news: Bank of America has decided that if you work for them, you will be paid no less than $20/hour and receive good benefits. That’s great! Also, that’s going to provide Bank of America with a ton of new investment capital via their employee’s direct deposit accounts, the balance of which can be leveraged by the bank more than a dozen times over! Oh boy!
Closing things up, the media machine is doing their best to de-legitimize left leaning candidates. Fortunately, the best they can do is accuse Bernie Sanders of being a millionaire now, and therefor somehow illegitimate. Way to swing for the fences, New York Times!

  • S7E38 Capitalism: The Opposite of Love
On this episode of AirWreckRadio the boys kick things of with the time-honored tradition of screwing things up! After a little bit of technical difficulty (technically, this stuff is difficult), they get things back on the rails…
In the news: The news stinks, and people are dying because they can’t afford cheap to produce drugs like insulin. Why? Stacey has some thoughts on the matter. It’s not that capitalism is evil, it’s just that it doesn’t care about individuals, even when those individuals make up the majority of the human race. It’s real scary, because when you begin to get ground up by the machine, you also become invisible. It’s the most terrible thing that happens to most people, and it’s not even done with malicious intent. It’s done out of apathy.
Closing things up, …well, that’s really it. Once Stacey got going, he went until there was no time left. Enjoy!

  • S7E37 Our Virtue Signal Has Been On For Like, 3 Miles Since We Turned Left!
On this episode of AirWreckRadio, it’s MaxFun Drive time again! We’re not actually associated with them, but Stacey sure does want you to give $10 to them in his name, so he can get those sweet, sweet pins! Go to MaxFun.com/Donate and give $10/ month so he can get those pins!
After that, it’s time to get nerdy! Cory’s DM asked Cory’s D&D character to save the Cartwright Inn! Also, Stacey was trying to buy a female merchant mini, and was upset to find that the Pathfinder Female Merchant figure was holding drinks over her head. Vertue Signal Warning…
    In the News this week:
Do you think the 45 President of the United States of America knows how to cook anything at all?
    We don’t.
    Actually in the News:
Elizabeth Warren has come out strong with some promises for when she’s President! It’s true! She wants to break up the big internet companies and abolish the electoral college! Great! The house is on fire, and finally, a candidate wants to straighten-up the book shelves!
    Also in the Actual News:
The President of the United States sat on his toilet all weekend, Tweeting 50 times about how his enemies are “losers.” He probably did all that hard work while eating boxed hamburders and doing the Denny’s menu word search in “jack-boot black” crayon.
Closing things up, the boys bring you their new NPR bit, “Taking A Nap, With AirWreckRadio!” In that segment, “Metal-heads with Kazoos Drown Out West Borough Baptists Church At Capital” is the headline. Listen up for some good good news!

  • S7E36 ¿Por Que No Los Dos?
On this episode of AirWreckRadio, the boys learn that our meritocracy…. IS A LIE! It’s true. The gatekeepers of capitalism go on and on about how all you’ve got to do is work hard, and the cream will rise to the top. Turn’s out that’s bullsplit! All you really need is rich parents who can bribe your mediocre hide into the nation’s top schools. We weren’t surprised either.
Also this week, Representative Devin Nunes is a thin skinned little dumpster person! On top of that, he’s also a hypocrite! Mr. Nunes has filed a lawsuit against Twitter because he claims that some Twitter users use the service to harass and humiliate him. Poor fella. Now, what’s crazy about that is that Devin Nunes has voted over-and-over to prevent people from being able to sue gun makers, or gun retailers when people misuse their products. It’s almost as of Representative Devin Nunes is of weak moral fortitude.
Closing things up: It turns out that there is one thing that lawmakers on both sides of the isle can agree on, here in New York, and that thing is Bingo! Apparently we’re not playing enough Bingo, and both Republicans and Democrats are circulating bills to address this most urgent issue. One bill is set to remove the age restriction on Bingoing, and another is set allow more places to host Bingo in the name of charity, or whatever.
Bingo. That’s what we need right now.
AirWreckRadio: We’re getting too old for this split!

  • Really, Beto!?
On this episode of AirWreckRadio, Stacey kicks things off with some light kvetching about the NIMBYs in his neighborhood who are circulating a petition to stop a Dollar General store from being built on the sight of what is currently a dilapidated, unusable building. Why are they doing this? They say that it won’t match the area’s historical so-and-so. Having spent most of his life in this neighborhood, Stacey thinks his neighbors’ appeal to “history” is very misplaced.
Also on this episode, Cory got a chance to sit down with the one and only, @TheRealBetoORourke to ask him just what the heck he thinks he’s bringing to the Democratic Primaries leading up to the 2020 Presidential Election. His answers are very… enlightening.
AirWreckRadio: You’d Beto listen if you know what’s good for you!

  • S7E34 Of Means and Ends
On this episode of AirWreckRadio, Stacey saw a bumper sticker on somebody’s stupid pickup truck that was so idiotically racially insensitive that he just couldn’t wait to talk about how dumb some white folks are.
In the news this week: The headline reads, “Black Lawmakers to Block Legalized Marijuana in N.Y. if Their Communities Don’t Benefit.” Hear at AirWreckRadio, we fully believe in legalization. Putting people in cages over marijuana, a plant that as Cory puts it, “can grow accidentally,” is absolutely immoral. Also, the war on drugs doesn’t work, unless it was designed to fill prisons, in which case, it’s been a stunning success. We know this. You know this. Black Lawmakers know this. So we ask, “why are black lawmakers willing to perpetuate a crime against humanity, one which unequivocally hurts black people more than white people, just to give an advantage to people of both color and means, over white people of means.
Don’t get us wrong, we’re sick of only the rich, primarily white, investor-class reaping all of the direct financial gains that come from legalized marijuana, but we think that not putting poor people in jail, as well as the increased tax revenue are too valuable to be held hostage just to ensure a more democratized sharing of opportunity at the top.
Closing things up… Nope. That’s pretty much it.
    AirWreckRadio: Who you gonna call!?
