I was sent a Map of Middle-earth Wooden Puzzle by CraftHub - not sponsored, just genuinely quite cool. So, while building it, let’s chat all things Tolkien: the magic of Middle-earth, why we keep coming back to it, and why I’m both excited and terrified about the future of The Lord of the Rings in film, TV, and gaming.
From Rings of Power and War of the Rohirrim to the upcoming Gollum movie and the rumoured Lord of the Rings game, let’s talk about what’s working, what’s worrying, and why Tolkien’s world deserves better than endless prequels.
If you love Middle-earth, nostalgia, and mildly sarcastic rants about corporate meddling, then let's go!

You asked, I answered. From Glorfindel vs Sanguinius to Helm’s Deep vs Minas Tirith, we’re diving deep into the nerdiest of nerd debates - Tolkien’s legendarium meets Warhammer 40K lore, with a dash of sarcasm, chaos, and tragic heroism.
If you’re new here - welcome! I make stuff about all things nerdy: Lord of the Rings, Warhammer 40K, fantasy lore, and the kind of hypothetical battles that make normal people question our life choices.
No clickbait, no “wait until the end!” nonsense, just solid lore talk, questionable opinions, and a few spiritual crises along the way.
Timestamps & Topics
0:00 – Intro You asked, I answered.
Probably should’ve done a longer intro… didn’t.
0:33 – Glorfindel or Sanguinius? Who wins in a sparring match?
Elf-lord reborn vs angelic Primarch. Magic swords or power armour — who takes the crown?
2:42 – What is the best weapon in Tolkien’s legendarium?
From Gurthang to Andúril — which Middle-earth blade has the deadliest lore?
4:47 – Have you watched Season 4 of The Witcher?
Spoiler: No. And here’s why.
5:10 – What if Aragorn went with Frodo and Sam?
Would Middle-earth survive if Strider tagged along — or would it all fall apart faster than a hobbit on Mount Doom?
7:23 – Helm’s Deep vs Minas Tirith: Best on-screen battle?
Rain, mud, and lightning versus CGI grandeur — which battle truly rules the screen?
9:37 – Worst Warhammer 40K hot take ever?
“Space Marines are overrated.” Oh really? Let’s unpack that heresy.
12:36 – Most interesting Middle-earth location?
Númenor — Tolkien’s Atlantis. Pride, punishment, and divine flood insurance.
16:18 – Most misunderstood character in the Horus Heresy?
Lorgar — the tragic preacher who loved too much and accidentally broke the galaxy.
18:37 – Who would lead the Blood Angels if Dante dies? Spoiler: nobody.
Because when Dante goes, the lights go out with him.
21:16 – What’s an underappreciated thing about The Lord of the Rings?
That Tolkien never meant to write it. The greatest fantasy epic was a complete accident.
24:32 – Conclusion
That’s 10 questions down.
Fancy a Part 2? Drop your heretical takes and lore debates in the comments.

Let’s have a proper look at Heroes of the Borderlands - the brand-new Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set that’s basically built to give you and your mates the smoothest first taste of D&D imaginable. It’s like heading to Dublin for your first pint of Guinness, it just doesn’t get better than that.
For years I’ve been preaching the good word of Mines of Phandelver as the best way to learn the game, but this new box takes things in a totally fresh direction. It’s not just a rulebook and a set of dice anymore, this one’s packed with physical bits, tokens, cards, and maps that make it feel halfway between a board game and a tabletop roleplaying session. It’s an entirely new way to learn D&D, and I’m genuinely intrigued to see how it stacks up against old faithful Phandelver.

algoryhodI’ve just finished watching the Netflix series on Ed Gein, and it got me wondering if there’s anyone in the Warhammer 40K universe who carries that same disturbing, obsessive energy. After digging through the lore, I landed on Lucius the Eternal - the Soulthief of Slaanesh himself.
This video blends Warhammer lore, true-crime parallels, and a touch of Halloween horror to explore how Lucius became one of the most grotesquely fascinating characters in the grimdark future. It’s part history, part horror, and entirely chaos.
We’ll look at his rise from gifted duellist to cursed immortal, his connections with Fulgrim and the Emperor’s Children, and how his story mirrors the real-world nightmare of Ed Gein - only taken to cosmic, daemon-infested extremes.
Grab a cup of tea and settle in; it’s going to get properly grim.

Halfway through Orc-tober, it’d be criminal not to talk about the loudest, greenest, most chaotic lads in the galaxy — the Orks. In this beginner-friendly Warhammer 40K video, I break down who the Orks really are: their bizarre origins, fungal biology, love of “more dakka,” and their galaxy-sized pub brawl of a culture.
If you’re new to Warhammer 40K lore or just want a laugh while learning why red ones do go faster, this one’s for you.
As always, thank you to everyone who sent in their painted miniatures — you’re the best community of nerds on the internet. If you enjoy the video, drop a comment and let me know what you’d like me to cover next — Ork clans, Meks, Gargants, or maybe a proper deep dive into Gork and Mork.
Timestamps:
0:00 – Green and Mean: Welcome to Orc-tober
Who the Orks are, why they’re the galaxy’s loudest hooligans, and what makes them so brilliantly ridiculous.
3:00 – The Old Ones’ DIY Project Gone Wrong
The mysterious origins of the Orks and their uncanny knack for surviving literally everything.
6:45 – Fungus Among Us
Why Orks are technically mushrooms, how they reproduce by spores, and why you can never truly wipe them out.
10:48 – Workplace Violence: The Ork Way of Life
Inside Ork society — leadership by punching and why the smallest lad still gets a job in the fight.
15:45 – Clubs, Clans, and Carnage
Meet the five biggest Ork clans: Goffs, Bad Moons, Evil Sunz, Deathskulls, and Snakebites — each louder than the last.
19:11 – More Dakka, Less Thinking
How Orks build guns that work purely because they believe they should — and why that terrifies everyone else.
22:07 – Gods, Gork, and Mork (The Blunt and the Sneaky)
The Ork gods explained — divine chaos, cosmic punch-ups, and religious experiences that usually end in explosions.
27:21 – Gargants, Stompas, and Other Terrible Ideas That Move

32:52 – Rolling Dice and Shouting WAAAGH!
Why Orks are one of Warhammer 40K’s most beloved factions — from tabletop chaos to red paint supremacy.

Curious about Dungeons & Dragons but not quite ready to don your wizard hat and introduce yourself as “Sparklebeard the Chaotic”? Fair play, I’ve been there. In this video, I’ll walk you through some incredible D&D-style games that let you live the adventure without the social anxiety of joining a real table full of strangers. From romanceable vampires to undead philosophers, we’re covering the best RPGs that capture the spirit of D&D - chaos, dice rolls, and all.
Whether you’re new to tabletop RPGs or a veteran looking for something to scratch that adventure itch, this is your guide to the best story-driven, choice-heavy, morally questionable fantasy games ever made.
Timestamps:
0:00 – “So, You’re D&D-Curious…”
A gentle roast and a soft landing for anyone who’s D&D-curious but allergic to social interaction.
0:54 – “Baldur’s Gate 3: The Bear Scene and Beyond”
My full-on love letter to the game that ruined my free time and raised the bar for fantasy RPGs forever. Spoiler: you will fall for a vampire.
7:15 – “Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Setting Yourself on Fire (Again)”
The chaotic masterpiece that taught Baldur’s Gate 3 everything it knows. Featuring lizard royalty, accidental arson, and unhinged multiplayer.
12:46 – “Icewind Dale – When Men Were Pixels and Fireballs Were Round”
A nostalgic trip back to the frosty north — old-school, crunchy, and unapologetically D&D. Less moral choice, more monster murder.
16:32 – “Baldur’s Gate 2: The Gospel According to Your Nerdy Cousin”
The classic that defined RPG storytelling. Still hits harder than half of modern gaming twenty years later.
20:33 – “Planescape: Torment – The Existential Crisis Edition”
A philosophical fever dream where you wake up dead, befriend a talking skull, and question your own soul. Deep, weird, and brilliant.
24:54 – “Conclusion: Roll High and Flirt Responsibly”
A heartfelt farewell to chaos, crits, and character creation crises. Plus a nudge towards joining a real D&D game… eventually.
Why You’ll Love This Video
If you’ve ever wondered:
What D&D-inspired games are best for beginners
Which RPGs capture the magic of tabletop roleplaying
Why Baldur’s Gate 3 is basically Skyrim with better writing
Or how to get into D&D without touching a dice yet
…then you’re in the right place. I’ve played them all (probably too much), and this is your no-nonsense, occasionally sarcastic guide to Dungeons & Dragons without the table.

I’ve spent a full week with Ghost of Yotei, and I’m honestly smitten. This isn’t just another sequel phoning it in; it’s a confident, razor-sharp refinement of Ghost of Tsushima. Sucker Punch haven’t reinvented the katana; they’ve simply honed it. The result? One of the most cinematic, emotionally charged open worlds I’ve played in years. From Atsu’s feral vengeance to the breathtaking duels under moonlight, every moment feels deliberate — poetic violence wrapped in beauty.

This video is my full first impressions and early review of Ghost of Yotei — covering combat, story, characters, stealth, exploration, and that gorgeous Kurosawa-meets-lofi aesthetic. If you loved Tsushima, this one might just ruin other open-worlds for you.
Watch it all, or jump to your favourite bit below.
Timestamps
0:00 – “Sharpening the Katana” – My honest first impressions after a week with Ghost of Yotei and why this sequel actually works.
3:45 – “Atsu: Chaos in Human Form” – Why our new protagonist is the fiery anti-Jin we didn’t know we needed.
7:00 – “Plot Twists and Punch-Ups” – Mid-game surprises, emotional gut punches, and the art of turning violence into therapy.
9:57 – “Weapons of Mass Expression” – Breaking down Yotei’s absurdly fun combat system and why every blade tells a story.
13:13 – “Stealth? I Hardly Know Her” – On sneaky assassinations, chaotic duels, and how Yotei rewards failure in style.
16:04 – “Side Quests That Don’t Feel Like Homework” – Skill trees, shrines, and why Yotei’s open world makes exploration actually matter.
19:37 – “Wind Guides, Not Waypoints” – Navigation, vibes, and the beauty of getting lost with purpose.
22:20 – “Final Thoughts from the Battlefield” – Why Ghost of Yotei is refinement over reinvention — and possibly my favourite sequel since The Witcher 3.
If you’re after a Ghost of Yotei review that’s spoiler-light, brutally honest, and mildly sleep-deprived, this one’s for you. I cover how the combat compares to Tsushima, whether Atsu holds her own as a lead, and what Sucker Punch have done to make this world feel so alive.
Expect:
– Early impressions from the first 20+ hours
– Breakdown of Atsu’s story, combat flow, and exploration
– Real talk about pacing, difficulty, and cinematic style
– Thoughts on modes like Kurosawa, Miike, and Watanabe

Mechanicus II has finally landed with a free demo on Steam, and I’ve been elbow-deep in cogitators to see what’s new, what’s grim, and what’s gloriously machine-blessed. In this video, I talk through what the demo offers, how the story connects to the first game, and why this might be one of the most promising Warhammer 40K strategy titles in years.

No spoilers, just updates, impressions, and a healthy amount of binary reverence. Whether you’re a loyal servant of the Omnissiah or a Necron enthusiast with a taste for galactic evictions, there’s something here for you.
I’ll cover both campaigns, new gameplay mechanics, the lore setup, and exactly why Mechanicus II feels like it’s setting the stage for a massive conflict of cold steel and faith.
And yes, we’ll talk about the soundtrack — because Mechanicus wouldn’t be Mechanicus without music that makes you want to chant in binary.

2:09 – The Angry Space Mummies Awaken
Vargard Nefershah stretches her ancient limbs, the Mechanicus get an unwelcome phone call, and things go downhill faster than a servitor in a logic puzzle.

11:34 – The Metal God Strikes Back
Vargard Nefershah’s revenge, Faustinius’ return, and a galactic war that’s more brutal than a data corruption sermon.
13:30 – Blessed Conclusions

Welcome back to my weekly read-through of The Silmarillion! This is episode two in my series where I’m breaking down Tolkien’s incredible but notoriously complex legendarium and making it more approachable for anyone new to his world.
Last time we tackled Ainulindalë - the creation of the world through divine music - and today, we’re diving into Valaquenta, the part of The Silmarillion that introduces the Valar and Maiar. Think of it as Middle-earth’s divine cast list, complete with heavenly drama, cosmic crafting, and one very moody Melkor.
I’ll start by giving an overview to make sense of the reading, then we’ll go through each of the Valar and their roles - from Manwë’s skies to Ulmo’s seas, Aulë’s craftsmanship, and Nienna’s grief-turned-wisdom. Along the way, we’ll spot connections to The Lord of the Rings and The Rings of Power that bring these ancient myths to life.
If you’re curious about Tolkien’s mythology, the origins of Gandalf, or just enjoy hearing stories about cosmic beings arguing over creation, you’re in the right place.

I recently took in Cryptic Cabin’s Orc-tober painting challenge https://crypticcabin.com/products/orc...
This video covers my first ever attempt at painting an Ork miniature. For anyone new here, I picked up a full Blood Angels army off eBay earlier this year and have spent the past six months stripping, repainting, and learning the painting side of the hobby from scratch. This challenge was a chance to break away from red bois and try something completely different.
The rules were simple but brutal: three random paints, one mystery brush, and no sneaky extras beyond black and white. Just me, a beefy Ork model, and a lot of trial and error. Along the way I wrestled with purple washes, questionable leather effects, and a snow base made from baking soda and PVA glue. For the finishing touch, I even cut up a Monster Energy can to create a chest plate logo and base trim, turning my Ork into a true caffeine-fuelled mascot.
This is NOT a painting tutorial - it’s more of a hobby diary where I share the wins, the mistakes, and the slightly unhinged decisions that got me from grey plastic to a finished Ork I can actually field without shame. If you’re into Warhammer 40K, miniature painting, or just want to see how someone bumbles their way through a challenge box, you’re in the right place.
I’ve also just hit 20,000 subscribers, which is mad. To celebrate, I’m running a giveaway in collaboration with a friend who makes incredible props and costumes - details are in the video at the end. Thank you ALL for supporting this channel; it’s been brilliant sharing the hobby with you.
