تعلم استخدام الحمام مرحلة نمو طبيعية عند الطفل، فنحن لا ندربهم على كيفية استخدام الحمام بل ندعمهم عندما يكونوا جاهزين. وتبدأ هذه المرحلة عندما يرغب الطفل في أن يكبر ويصل نموه العصبي إلى النقطة التي يمكنه فيها التحكم في مثانته وامعائه.

In today’s episode we will discuss the Montessori method in supporting a child during the phase of toilet learning. Instead of “potty training,” or “toilet training” the Montessori method refers to the process as “toilet learning.” That's because a child naturally learns how to use a toilet once his muscle is strong enough to support him and once he feels ready to take on this venture just like walking or crawling, which doesn't require training. As parents, our role is to prepare the environment, follow the development of the child and be respectful to his needs.

We will cover:

• The positive language used by the parent during this stage
• The appropriate clothing for a child during this stage
• Preparing the environment
• Physical and mental signs of child’s readiness
• Regression during the learning

طفلك حضر سبايدر مان، سوبر مان، فروزن، أو حورية البحر؟ هل هذا تصور أو خيال؟ هل هناك فرق بين الاثنين؟

التصور والخيال ببساطة ليسا نفس الشيء. يقدم الخيال للأطفال سيناريوهات مستحيلة لا يمكن أن تتحقق أبدًا، ما في انسان طائر. أو يا ترى في؟ وتتعارض مع فهم الطفل المتطور لكيفية عمل العالم. التصور هو عكس ذلك تماما. يعتمد التصور على فهم الطفل للعالم ويعتمد على الواقع وتجارب حقيقية.

Fantasy vs. imagination? Are they the same?

Did your child watch Superman? Spiderman? Frozen? Little Mermaid? Are these shows based on boosting imagination or fantasy? 

Fantasy and imagination are simply not the same thing. Fantasy offers children impossible scenarios that can never come true and confuses the child's developing understanding of how the world works. Imagination is just the opposite. Imagination draws on the child's understanding of the world and is based on reality and real experiences. Fantasy can never happen - while imagination can.

Prepared environment

“The first aim of the prepared environment is, as far as it is possible, to render the growing child independent of the adult” Dr. Maria Montessori. A prepared environment at home is one that allows the child and adult to both enjoy the space and follow their interests. طفلي منومنضبط، أعطي حرية مستحيل. شو يعني الانضباط؟ آمنت ماريا مونتيسوري أن الحرية والانضباط وجهان لعملة واحدة ولا يمكن أن يكون أحدهما دون الآخر. الحرية ليست فعل ما تريد ، بالعكس هي القدرة على فعل الصواب دون قيود. قالت ماريا إن "كل مشكلة في الانضباط تنتج عن نقص الحرية" خلال الفترة الحساسة من التطور. تجلب الحرية التنسيق في حركات الجسد والتحكم في النفس، وهذا جوهر الانضباط. استمعوا للحلقة لتكتشفوا سر الموازنة بين الحرية والانضباط

.My child is naughty. Why is he not listening? I can’t set him free! There are common misperceptions about disciplining a child and usually, none of them include setting the child free. In Montessori, we believe that freedom and discipline work hand-in-hand, freedom is not doing whatever you want it is actually doing what is right at your own will without restraints. Maria Montessori believed that liberty and discipline are two sides of the same coin and we can't have one without the other. She said that “every problem of discipline results from lack of liberty” during a sensitive period of development. Tune in to find out the balance between freedom and discipline.
