Alabama Freshwater Fishing Report for Aug 14, 2025
The Alabama Freshwater Fishing report is your best resource for the Lake Guntersville Fishing Report, Weiss Lake Fishing Report, Lake Eufaula Fishing Report, Mobile Tensaw Delta Fishing Report, and all the creeks, rivers, and reservoirs in between.
This week on the Alabama Freshwater Fishing Report, we’re kicking things off with Steve Graziano from Garza’s Guide Service on Lake Eufaula, followed by Shannon Wood with the latest from the Mobile-Tensaw Delta.
Steve joins us first to talk about how a recent cool spell has made August fishing far more pleasant than usual. He shares insights on how wind and rain affect bass location and behavior, why fishing windblown banks can load you up with baitfish and bass, and how he’s been targeting offshore structure in 15 to 25 feet of water with side scan electronics. He recounts a recent 20-pound day anchored by an eight-pound bass caught on a prototype football head jig he’s developing with Hunter from LS Lures, and he teases details about when and where anglers can get their hands on the new “Gras” jig.
Next, we head to the Delta where Shannon Wood wraps up this year’s Scales and Tails bream tournament series. He recaps the season standings, talks about plans to finish earlier next year to beat the summer heat, and shares ideas for adding a fly fishing category in 2025. Shannon also reports on a recent morning chasing bull bream with both fly rod and crickets, including success on a homemade hot pink popping bug and a minimalist bead head nymph. But it’s not just panfish—he also shares a blue crab report from the Causeway. Shannon closes with a look ahead to winter bream fishing and next year’s expanded tournament schedule, which will include events in Central Alabama for the first time.
