Alan is flying off to Oakland to cover the Raptors away games, and Jeff McArthur is graciously sitting in for the day. Jeff will have a double feature on coffee topics - a trick that job hunters should know, and an interview with Stuart McCook, Historian at the University of Guelph, about the surprisingly low price coffee farmers get for their beans. Before that, Jeff recounts how he got drafted for the show today, and sympathizes with the Raptors who were looking at a bunch of empty seats in the beginning of the second half on Sunday. Jeff also brings on parenting expert Alyson Schafer to help you rest easy that letting your kids stay up to watch the final Raptors games will not mark you as a bad parent!
Alan spends Monday with us before flying off to Oakland to watch the Raptors get back their Mojo. Alan will be joined in Oakland by Kamil Karamali who joins us on the show to pitch an Odd Couple coverage strategy. Alan also debriefs from the weekend news on Ontario politics, goes over the report on missing Indigenous women and girls with guests Mike Le Couteur of Global, and Sharon McIvor, lawyer on the McIvor v. Canada case, and ends with some Coffee talk with Global Online's Laura Hensley.
Alan is a little tuckered from the Raptors game, but he rallies to bring the show home for a winning finish to this week! Alan talks with MPP Christine Hogarth about hotly opposed Bill 108, Belinda Junkin, Executive Director for the Ontario Invasive Plant Council, to see what funding cuts will do to the environmental controls on pest plants, Adam Lajeunesse, Irving Shipbuilding Chair in Arctic Marine Security division, to talk if size matters with Ice Breakers, Ru Cui, publicity associate at Lonely Planet, and Allie Neal, PR Manager for Visit Oakland, to discover the best things to see in Oakland (for those travelling Raptors fans)... and of course Raptors, Raptors, Raptors!!! Go Raps.
It's hard to focus with the Raptors first ever NBA Finals game only hours away, but Alan gives it a sporting try! He talks politics with The Star's Martin Regg Cohn, the new Pokemon sleep AP with Global Online's Adam Wallis, downloads some thoughts on beer, Huawei, and 5G health... and of course talks a lot of Raps with an assist by Global's Kamil Karamali.
Alan has a packed show today, filled with great guests and lots of sports talk! He starts off with the serious delays for Air Canada with Sean O'Shea, Global's reporter covering the story. Alan keeps Global Morning show host Jamie Tawil company, talking Raptors as he waits between Media appearances at the Raptors Media Day. Dr. Jan Willem Cohen Tervaert, Director of the division of Rheumatology at the University of Alberta, joins to discuss implications behind a suspension of certain breast implants because of correlations to certain cancers. Global's Eric Sorensen comes on to talk about his three-part investigation into nuclear waste. And journalist Naomi Parness sympathizes with Alan's parental user guilt on devices.
