Hello there, and welcome to episode 12 of Ale and Agony!
Today I am drinking a can of Bangin' and I will be telling you about the case of LaVena Johnson.
LaVena Johnson was found dead in her army barracks just 10 days before her 20th birthday, the army ruled her death as a suicide. But after her family saw her broken nose, broken jaw, and her black eyes, they started to question what really happened to their daughter.
In this episode show notes, you will find the link to the documentary which I found on YouTube, it contains footage from the Documentary The Silent Truth, but WARNING - Very graphic images are shown.
I will also link to a new podcast I discovered whilst researching this case, called Women and Crime and they are fantastic, super insightful.

Hello there, and welcome to episode 11 of Ale and Agony!
Today I am drinking a bottle of triple hop, and I will be telling you about the case of Kitty Genovese AKA the bystander effect.
Kitty was stabbed, raped, and left to die outside of her apartment building in 1964. It was famously reported that 38 neighbors saw everything that happened through their windows that overlooked the entrance to the building, and not one person called the Police.
But what really happened?
In this episode show notes, you will find the link to the documentary which I found available on Amazon Prime, it is called The Witness, and this has all of the footage of Bill talking to the surviving neighbors who heard Kitty that night:

Today I am drinking a can of Brewdogs Lost Lager Mango, and I will be telling you about the case of the Petit Family Murders.
The Petit family were woken up at 3am by 2 home invaders, they were then beaten, tied up, sexually molested, and raped. The mother was then taken to a local bank to get the men $15,000, and they then set the house on fire, with the family inside.
In this episode show notes, you will find the link to the HBO documentary that I watched on YT that is a couple of hours long and it includes testimonials from the family as well as the recordings from Steve and Joshua:

Hello there, and welcome to episode 9 of Ale and Agony!
Today I am drinking an alcohol-infused punch, and I will tell you about the bizarre case of Paul Ingram.
Paul's daughters came forward and accused him of satanic sexual assault, which at first he denied. But he didn't bring up his children to be liars, so they must be telling the truth right? Perhaps he repressed the horrible things he has done to them? Come on this wild ride and decide for yourself!
