Our newb-friendly hiatus re-watch continues this week with two of our very favorite episodes. First up in "Aunt Ginger," the Gallaghers borrow an elderly lady to keep their house, while Ian & Lip get into a scrape with a family by the name of Milkovich. In "Casey Casden," Debbie steals a baby, Steve makes us swoon, and Kev gets himself into a pickle.
Its the first week of the long Shameless hiatus, and AlibiCast is taking you back to the start to discuss the very first two episodes of the show, "Pilot" and "Frank the Plank." Joining us in our rewatch of the show will be V, who is a complete newcomer to Shameless. After V bids us adieu, we also spend some time talking about what these episodes mean to Shameless veterans & then we tackle the ongoing Noel Fisher/Season 6 situation.
We've reached the finale of season 5, and Carrie joins us to talk about "Love Songs in the Key of Gallagher." Surprisingly, the story that worked best for your hosts was Frank's. On the flip side, we were not thrilled with anything involving Gallagher children, and we're kind of sad that this was the episode that leads us into hiatus.
Luckily, we'll be back next week with coverage of the show from the beginning, with some content that's friendly for someone watching the show for the first time. Please join us!
This week on the pod, our friend Kate joins us to talk about episode 11 of season 5, "Drugs Actually." We're still really liking Bianca, even if she has ill advised sex with a hobo, and Lip's situation continues to intrigue. We're thrilled Kev & V are working through their problems, and that Mickey is cool in a potentially deadly crisis. And if you think we don't have opinions about Monica and Ian, then you must be new.
This week on the podcast, Carrie (@TVandDinners) joins us to discuss 5.10, "South Side Rules." Up for discussion is the way the title of the episode is a throughline for all the stories, whether Kev and V have finally taken a step forward, the future of Lip & Amanda's relationship, and just how dead Sammi is about to be. Also, we think Bianca might have magic powers because she has us invested in a Frank story. Oh, and *maybe* we talk about Ian and Mickey and a certain return to the Dugout of Awesome.
This week on AlibiCast, we're talking about episode 8 of season 5, "Uncle Carl," and we had a lot to say, if the episode runtime is any indication. This episode marked a turn back towards classic Gallagher shenanigans that everyone enjoyed. Holly, Melissa and Serrae give their thoughts on the differences between Mickey & Ian and Frank & Monica, along with some thoughts on Carl being our new favorite, Gus' future on the show, and the state of the Ball-Fisher situation.
On the second episode of AlibiCast, Carrie (@tvanddinners) joins Holly, Melissa and Serrae to talk about 5.6 Crazy Love. Ian is on the run with Yev, JimmySteve is back to stir up shit, and Mickey is just plain breaking our hearts.
Welcome to a new podcast about Showtime's Shameless! Each week, Holly, Melissa, and Serrae will be discussing the latest episode & all the shenanigans of the Gallaghers.
In this first episode, we're talking about Episode 5 of Season 5, "Rite of Passage." Tag along as we discuss Fiona's hasty marriage, the return of JimmySteve, Kev and Veronica's marital woes and the heartbreak of Mickey and Ian.
