Quick Podcast Update: Technical Difficulties & What’s Next 🎙️
A quick check-in with my listeners regarding a few technical issues in Episode 400 and the latest Fightland recap.
Episode 400 has a brief section where music accidentally plays over the audio, and the Fightland episode came out with lower volume than intended. I didn’t catch either issue until after publishing, but I’m working through the recording-system kinks now.
Most importantly, we’re still moving forward.
CMB Part Three is coming, the audiobook readings will continue this week, and of course, the Fightland recaps aren’t going anywhere.
Thank you for continuing to support Alicia Shanise Reviews through 400 episodes and beyond. I appreciate every listen, every share, and everybody who continues to rock with me.
We’ll get the technical side straightened out and get right back to business. 🎙️🖤
We’re back with another Fightland recap!
In Season 1, Episode 5, “I WANT THIS,” things continue to heat up as the story pushes forward and the stakes keep getting higher.
In this episode, I’m breaking down my thoughts on the episode, the characters, the decisions being made, and where I think Fightland may be headed next. As always, we’re talking about what worked, what stood out, and the moments that had me paying attention.
If you’re watching Fightland along with me, tap in and let me know your thoughts on Episode 5.
🎙️ Alicia Shanise Reviews
400 episodes. Wow.
In this special milestone episode, I’m taking a moment to reflect on the journey that started back in 2021 and everything this podcast has grown into since then.
I talk about why I started podcasting, some of my favorite moments and topics throughout the years, including Snowfall, Narcos, cartel documentaries, Mob Summer, music, and the stories that sent me down some unforgettable rabbit holes.
I also open up about my growth along the way, my journey as an author, sharing my books and audiobooks with my podcast family, and why storytelling means so much to me.
This episode is a little different. It’s personal, emotional, reflective, and probably the most honest version of me I’ve shared on this platform.
I also talk about one of my biggest inspirations, 50 Cent, and the dream of one day seeing my own writing make its way from the page to the screen.
Thank you to everyone who has listened, supported, shared, or tapped in at any point during these 400 episodes.
This isn’t the finish line.
It’s just another chapter.
Here’s to 400. 🎙️❤️
Fightland is back with Season 1, Episode 4, “Protect Yourself at All Times,” and the pressure continues to build.
In Episode 399, Alicia Shanise breaks down the biggest moments, character decisions, and ongoing storylines from the episode—while sharing her honest thoughts on where the series may be headed next.
Did Episode 4 deliver? Let’s talk about it.

Episode 399 is here! 🎙️
Today on Alicia Shanise Reviews, I’m breaking down the first three episodes of FIGHTLAND.
At the center of the story is former heavyweight champion Duke Kilroy, fresh out of prison and returning to London with one thing on his mind: revenge. But the deeper we get into the Marshall family, the more complicated that revenge mission becomes.
I’m talking Duke, Kingsley, Joy, Zeke, Cece, the family dynamics, the writing, the British boxing backdrop, and why I think viewers should give this series a real chance before comparing it to anything else.
Because Fightland may use boxing as the setting, but the real fight is about power, loyalty, betrayal, family and revenge.
And just like that…
399 episodes down. Episode 400 is NEXT. 🎙️🔥

The journey comes to an end.
In Episode 398, I break down the series finale of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, "Unconditional Love." After five unforgettable seasons, we finally witness the closing chapter of Kanan Stark's origin story and the emotional ending that reshapes everything we thought we knew about the Power Universe. The series concluded with its planned five-season arc, while Kanan's story continues through the broader franchise.
From the biggest moments and character decisions to the themes of family, loyalty, betrayal, sacrifice, and power, I'm sharing my complete thoughts on how the story wrapped up, what surprised me, what hurt the most, and whether this finale delivered the ending fans deserved.
As always, I'm reviewing this series as both a longtime Power Universe fan and a New York urban crime historian, diving beyond the surface to discuss the writing, storytelling, symbolism, and the legacy Raising Kanan leaves behind.
In this episode:

In Episode 397 of Alicia Shanise Reviews, we're back inside The Tale of the Park-Hill Crew: Volume 3 with two powerful chapters that explore the emotional weight behind survival.
Chapter 4: "Control Ain't the Same as Peace" reminds us that holding everything together doesn't always mean healing. Sometimes the strongest people carry the heaviest burdens behind closed doors.
Then, Chapter 5: "When Silence Turns Dangerous" reveals what can happen when pain goes unspoken and difficult truths are left buried. In Park-Hill, silence can protect you—but it can also destroy everything.
If you've been following the journey of the Park-Hill Crew, these chapters continue to peel back the layers of the characters you've come to know, showing that every decision, every secret, and every scar shapes what comes next.

The story continues as we return to the streets of Park-Hill with two powerful chapters from The Tale of the Park-Hill Crew: Volume 3.
In Chapter 3: "Numb Don't Mean Healed," we explore the emotional weight of trauma and loss. Just because the pain goes quiet doesn't mean it's gone. Some wounds become part of who we are, and the toughest battles are often the ones nobody can see.
Then in Chapter 4: "Pressure from Every Angle," the pressure begins to close in. Family, loyalty, the streets, and impossible choices all collide as the Park-Hill Crew faces challenges that test every relationship and every decision. When life comes at you from every direction, something has to give.
If you're enjoying the journey through Volume 3, be sure to follow the podcast, leave a rating, and share the episode with someone who loves authentic urban fiction.

In Part 2 of our three-part CMB series, we take a closer look at how the Cash Money Brothers rose to power in Brooklyn's Lafayette Gardens during the early 1990s.
This episode explores how the organization got its name, the transition of power following the Hamilton brothers, and how Damian "World" Hardy established one of the most feared reputations in New York City. We also discuss several key members of the organization, the crew's growing influence throughout the neighborhood, and the violence that helped cement their notoriety.
This is the story of how CMB became a name that demanded respect long before the federal indictments and courtroom battles.
Coming Next: In Part 3, we'll dive into the investigation, federal indictments, courtroom testimony, cooperators, and the legacy Damian "World" Hardy left behind.
