Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo knew they had created a special album with their sophomore effort, Discovery. And they knew they wanted to do something special with the video component of the album. Eschewing the traditional music video cycle of the TRL era at the turn of the millennium, Daft Punk embarked on a four-year, $4 million journey, turning their seminal album into a transcendent space opera anime.
