Hello beautiful humans. Welcome to another episode of the Aliya Yoga Podcast. Today is a solo episode where I talk about two lessons that have been really landing for me post Tulum retreat and in traveling around Mexico.

I have been in full rest mode in Bacalar Mexico and that is leaving quite a bit of room for some juicy integration around these two ideas: 1. creating space for evolution in relationships and 2. staying in my center.

As humans, we all have emotional patterning and we love to do this funny little thing called projecting our deepest fears and wounds on the people we love the most (haha). The choice, in the moment, is to remember that nothing is personal (easier said than done) and stay in the frequency that you'd like to invite the person to meet you in when they are ready. There is nothing you need to fix or do. Staying in a frequency of love is the most supportive thing we can do for each other!

I am coming to you live from Mexico after co-hosting the Sensual Self Inquiry Retreat with Catherine Mansfield. 

In this episode I give a brief recap of the Tulum Retreat, and talk about the natural brain chemistry pattern that what goes up must come down, specifically talking about dopamine after periods of connection, love, intimacy, expansion, etc.

It's been interesting to navigate in my own mind when dopamine gets lower and what stories come up for me around that. For me, old stories of unworthiness like to rear their head when my dopamine is low, which is an invitation for me to integrate by questioning those stories and knowing that they are not true. What has been particularly helpful for me in this merry go round has been remembering that this phenomena is not unique to me and its something we ALL experience. Taking the isolation out of patterned thoughts makes noticing, questioning, and not believing them much easier. 

Now that the Tulum retreat is over (sniffles) it's time to start looking forward to the Here Comes the Sun retreat in Guatemala in March 2024. It's going to be totally epic and you really won't want to miss it.

I am ecstatic to bring to you a an extremely inspiring podcast episode with Yotam Hayush. Yotam is 26 years old and 3 months ago he was in a motorcycle accident that required an upper leg amputation. Thanks to the support of friends and family, he is inspired to make the most out of his life despite this new challenge. Yotam is out of the hospital and on a fast track recovery moving towards getting a prosthetic.

Yotam is passionate about helping newly amputees navigating the mental resilience necessary to get out of the hospital and keep moving forward. He is starting a nonprofit called Amp Up. Direct links to his socials are below.
