In this episode, I chat to American artist April Marten about her work but also her life experiences, her family, consumerism, living in New York as an artist during covid, and so much more. April uses art as a channel for connection and critical thought. She analyzes how we form cultural identity through social pressures such as what we purchase, consume, and digest — whether they be material goods or ideas. Through the creation of art experiences and collectible works of art, April invites audiences to celebrate the spirit of sacred individuality that makes us human and ties us together. Episode 16 of 'All About Art': Art Fairs - First Time at PARALLEL Vienna

The covid-19 pandemic has changed the way we've interacted with art in the last year. Online viewing rooms have become the main way to visit an exhibition, visual social media platforms like Instagram remain a popular way to share art on the Web, not to mention the NFT boom that really began to take off in 2021.

For International Women’s Day in March 2021, I conducted a written interview with Claudia about her works in the online exhibition “Yin My Way Out”, presented by ARTPOWHER Contemporary which launched on Artsy on May 8th and will be coming to an end on June 10th. Within the scope of the exhibition, I wrote an essay on the art of illustration which covers the history of illustration, how the arts sector views illustration, how the emergence of the digital has had an effect on this, and why there is some friction when it comes to using the labels of “illustrator” and “artist”.
