This week we talk about Compilations. Some younger listeners, not that there are any don't know what a compilation is. It was basically this genius marketing tool used by punk labels to give exposure to their bands in the '90s. it might have happened earlier than we discovered them but we discuss our discovery of them. Those comps, as they were called back then, were Punk-o-rama(Epitaph), Survival Of The Fattest(Fat Wreck Chords, which always used fat in some kind of word play putting fat into a saying that already exists, and Go Ahead Punk Make My Day(Nitro Records). Those were the big three I(Darryl) discovered. When I say big three I mean the big three punk labels that were churning out great albums every year for a very long time and still are. Of course there were other labels putting out comps but these three were the ones in your face and on the front lines. We appreciate you all for listening because frankly we kinda suck at this but it has been something we have wanted to talk about for a long time because there isn't another podcast that we know of that's dedicated to reliving the glory days of '90s punk. If you have any topics you want us to discuss about the '90s punk scene or just to tell us we suck shoot us an email at [email protected] we will be launching a twitter account and instagram account this week to keep everyone who gives a shit up to date. thanks for listening and have a great week.
