Ellis received a Best Supporting Actress nod this year for her performance as Oracene "Brandy" Price, mother to Venus and Serena Williams, in "King Richard," in which she starred opposite to Will Smith's Richard Williams.

The movie follows four years in the life of Julie, a young woman struggling to navigate her dating life and figure out the right career path. The Guardian calls it "an instant classic." Writer and director Joachim Trier and star Renate Reinsve join us to discuss the film.
[REBROADCAST FROM November 4, 2021] Pablo Larraín's new film, "Spencer," documents three days of the late Princess Diana's life, ten years into her marriage, as she spends the Christmas holidays with the royal family. Starring Oscar nominee Kristen Stewart as a haunted Diana, the film unfolds as a speculative drama, attempting to showcase how Diana might have felt, surrounded by a disintegrating marriage and a suffocating royal family, but still grounded by her love for her children. Director Larraín joins us to discuss his film.
