In a year that's certain to be full of unexpected surprises, we sat down with Lee Terbosic, brain-breaking Magician and master of surprises himself, to open up 'All Systems Good' in 2021.   

You may know Lee from his popular live residencies, his huge Downtown Pittsburgh escape act, "Houdini 100", or his Discovery Channel TV series "Houdini's Last Secrets", but you've never seen him quite like this. We get into the giant tangle of logistics that exist behind the scenes of magic. We dive in deep talking about the quality of playing cards, the ethics of magicians and the way they share secrets, all the way to the endless amounts of hats a magician has to wear on a TV set to successfully shoot magic in a way that will translate through the screen to the audience. We go heavy into the weeds around all things magic and wind through all the wild events that consist of his professional journey and brings us to the point where we see him today as a world class Magician.

This week 'All Systems Good' connected with Artist, Oriana Gerez, to talk about navigating the business side of the art world, all things Star Wars and literally everything else in life. Oriana has a wild story from growing up in Venezuela, coming to the United States for college, aspiring to pursue a career in Particle Physics, and winding up as a full-time thriving artist. The mind of a creative is so entertaining to explore because we never end up anywhere close to where we originally started... unless of course, when we're talking about Star Wars, in which case, we stayed very much on task and dug deep into our love of the franchise, The Mandalorian series (Grogu (aka "The Child" (aka "Baby Yoda"))) and all the brand new Star Wars Disney announcements.

This week, All Systems Good got to connect with Damaris Shaw, new author of the children's book, "Dinosaur Ears". We dive into the details of what a person needs to do to become an author and what specifically she encountered writing a children's book. She recounts her experiences going through the process of writing a book, cultivating the resources needed to bring it to completion, lessons she learned along the way and some advice she has for people who may be looking to write a book at some point.

To ring in Thanksgiving, Ricci Minella, the owner and operator of Burgh Bites Food Truck and Brick N' Mortar restaurant, joined us on All Systems Good for a chat. Ricci gives us a look at the service industry from every level. Deploying a literal "ground, up" approach to eventually open up his own restaurant, Ricci takes us through how he started feeding people out of a food cart, eventually graduating into moving into the food truck lane, then finally landing at the point where his dream of opening a restaurant became within reach and able to be pursued.   

We dig into the various lessons he learns along the way at each level and even though each step was in the realm of service and food, they all pose their own obstacles, strategies and realizations.

When it comes to Pittsburgh, the name Sarris Candies should be a stranger to nobody, and with their recent partnership developments, it's a name finding its way into the national and international spotlight. It was an absolute honor to get to sit down with Bill Sarris, President of Sarris Candies and local icon. We talk about some really exciting news where Sarris Candies partnered with the social media platform TikTok for a Halloween influencer collaboration. The conversation spans so much more, from the Bill's upbringing inside world of a family candy business, some of his milestone moments for the company as well as himself professionally, and even his single most favorite candy out of allllllllllll the products they offer.  

We had a chance to have Maggie Schneider sit down with us for the newest podcast episode of All Systems Good. Maggie is an incredible vocalist for the band Glimmers and amazingly talented at performing and song writing. We get into all the different corners of music including how we initially crossed paths with each other via our connections to the band All Time Low. It was beyond exciting to be able to sit down with someone we're sure most of you need no introduction to, Marta Anyse Napoleone Mazzoni, host of the Marta On The Move Podcast. Professional journeys are often dictated by the personal journeys we face in private.
