We’re going to be hitting on all cylinders on today’s show. Dr. Ben Sweeney is a chiropractor and purveyor of all things health and wellness through Sweeney Health Centers.
It’d be easy to look at Dr. Ben and assume that he’s just breezed his way through life with his athleticism, charming smile, and rugged good looks, but you’d be wrong. Behind the successful exterior and charm, he harbored a lot of undealt-with pain that threatened to destroy him, his practice, and those he loved.
A moment of intervention from his wife broke his trance. Ben is now four years sober from a debilitating opioid addiction broken by a 94-day in-patient treatment program in which he was isolated from his wife, family, and thriving chiropractic practice. He shares very openly in this episode about how it all started with trying just half of one little blue pill that took him down an 8-year spiral of secrecy and addiction and all while he was helping others beat their addictions and live a healthier lifestyle.
During treatment, Ben began to deal with childhood sexual trauma and other tragic memories that had kept him internally isolated despite success in business and a loving family.
Now hosting his own podcast called “Recovering Wellness,” Ben has found a true spiritual calling to help others find the recovery and sobriety they need to live a beautiful, healthy life.
