Most of us know the feeling. Something’s going on and you’re missing it. It’s called FOMO – Fear of Missing Out – and it’s the topic of this episode of “All the F Words.” FOMO is real and it has a lot to do with insecurity and self-esteem. Social media absolutely amplifies the refrain. As the baby of her family, Joanne was forever feeling left out of the loop, and that feeling has led to a lifetime of overscheduling. Gabi has a different approach. Hear strategies for coping with FOMO this week!

  • F Cups
On this episode, Gabi and Joanne talk about a subject near and dear to their hearts, quite literally: having large breasts. They discuss the ups and down (again, sometimes literally) of being gifted in the mammary department, why girls are starting puberty earlier and earlier, how exercise can be complicated for women with bigger chests, and what it means to have dense breasts and why you should find out if you do.

  • Fraud
If you’ve turned on a television or opened a newspaper lately, you were likely inundated with a multitude of true stories of scammers, grifters, and con men and women. Today we’re focusing on two big ones. The first is Anna Sorokin, AKA Anna Delvey, the Russian-born German scammer who convinced major players in the art and finance world of Manhattan that, not only was she was a wealthy socialite, but that they should loan her hundreds and thousands of dollars to open a “foundation” in her name. Next, we’ll talk about Elizabeth Holmes, the recently convicted felon and disgraced founder of the defunct medical device company Theranos, who defrauded high-profile investors to the tune of $121 million dollars.

  • Flight, Fight, Freeze, Fawn
When a zebra in the wild senses a lion is about to attack, something interesting happens: the zebra’s body, or, more specifically, its parasympathetic nervous system, takes over and does its best to help its host, the zebra, escape a detrimental fate. Without the zebra’s conscious participation, the zebra’s body decides whether fight or flight—running away—is the best move. A version of this, also known as a stress response, happens in humans too and that’s what we’re talking about on today’s episode.
