On this episode:
We discuss how important is motherhood? Do mothers get the credit they deserve? What is your favorite thing about being a mother? Is it fair to compare fathers and mothers? Because there are "dead beat" moms out there and fathers doing both roles...
What is a quality you think you got from your mother or grandmother? What quality would you want Alanna to get from you as a mother? Whose a woman you look up to that isn’t your mother?
My wife and I are joined by Jada Brown. A lovely young woman who is biracial with a white mother and black father. Her mother recommended we talk to her about her thoughts, feelings, and opinions on growing up in a mixed household. Which is what our show is based on. We also seek advice on how we should raise our kids in this crazy time we're in. What we should expose them too? How early should we expose them to the conversation of being a biracial child?
It was an awesome and productive conversation that we think others could relate too, especially with so many interracial marriages and children now a days! She also participates in "9 Questions w/JET9". So make sure you listen to hear her answers! We hope you all enjoy this episode and make sure y'all follow Jada Brown below to see all that she is involved in!

My wife and I discuss TV shows and Documentaries we have been watching and how they pertain to our life and what's going on around us. Starting off with the Netflix Documentary, Seaspiracy. Then going into the HBO Max Documentary, Exterminate All the Brutes, which leads into our daughter informing me she recited the pledge of allegiance and how that does not sit well with me in particular.
Another show we have been watching that goes hand in hand with politics and the corrupt government is FX's Snowfall. Which just wrapped up Season 4, but is a must watch!
We briefly discuss the half-marathon we're running in September and if we are prepared for that and then close out the show with Emily reflecting on her life while her birthday approaches in June.
A laid back episode as you'll probably be able to tell from our tone, but a good one filled with interesting thoughts and opinions on controversial/touchy topics.
We hope you all enjoy!
On this episode, my wife and I discuss...
Does lack of sex ruin a relationship/marriage? If that man or woman were to go elsewhere for that, is that considered cheating? Would they be judged for that? Sticking with marriage, should married couples only have friends that are married? Or are they allowed to have single friends? Maybe, not allowed, but there are some single friends with bad intentions and try to force that onto someone who is married or in a relationship. We all heard the saying male friends say to each other, "Your life is going to be over when you get married.". Why is that a thing? What if the opposite happened?
We also discuss what piece of advice/information we would want our kids to hold onto when they get older? Is it just one thing or could there be multiple? This questions leads us into the documentary on Netflix, Athlete A, and how it disturbed and worried us as parents. These kids start gymnastics at such a young age, and after watching that documentary, it does make us a big skeptical of the coaches, the parents, and overall lifestyle that is associated with gymnastics.
We cover all of this and a bit more on episode 17 of All Things Black & White Podcast! We hope you all enjoy!
On episode sixteen of All Things Black and White Podcast, my wife Emily and I discuss relationship/marriage advice for people newly married or in a new relationship. We are approaching our second wedding anniversary and just wanted to offer some advice and share what has worked for us so far. We also offer advice and share our experiences to new parents. Does marriage and parenting relate?
What surprised us most about parenting? I think we both agreed on how quick they adapt to the things they see you do. They start to mock and mimic any and everything you say or do. Among other things, that might be the one that stands out to us. We value our kids more than anything, so this term "helicopter" parent is a tricky term and we may or may not be "helicopter" parents. Lol. To each its own, but nevertheless, it sparked an interesting conversation. My wife Emily and I also discuss lessons and things we learned from our upbringing and how we apply that towards raising our children.
To close out the show, we talk about some of our insecurities and if Emily would have considered a career in sports being that she played basketball and volleyball.
