  • Author Rival Gates
I was born in Port Huron, Michigan USA and moved to a suburb of Toronto, ON, Canada at age five.  My father was a technical writer and magazine editor while my mother was a high school teacher.  Always interested in creative writing, I participated in many contests in grammar school which led me to start writing my own short stories.  At age thirteen I began working on one, which kept developing and progressing until I had a hand-written manuscript for “Quest for the Red Sapphire” at age fifteen.  The project was shelved for many years through high school and then returning to the USA to attend Michigan State University.  I graduated with a degree in Communication and found that I had a gift and enthusiasm for speaking in public.  That led me to a career in furniture store management and sales.
With my first PC I dusted off my old story and began to revise it.  Not a day had passed since I first created the story that I did not consider some aspect of its outline.  An entire series was planned and put in order to be written.   Backstories were formed and the series was ready to produce.
After years of refinement of the stories, my mother came to me with a terminal illness and made me promise to publish the books.  So I did just that.

  • Author Brittany Quagan
Brittany Quagan, known by family and friends as "Brittles," was born in Connecticut, twenty-something years ago and spent most of her life day dreaming like the stereo-typical Gemini she is.

Growing up, she wanted nothing more than to live a life of magic, mayhem, and writing, never knowing her dreams were being manifested into a reality with every wish and intention.

As a teen, her anxiety-riddled existence became nothing less than a burden, but she was determined to escape it and convinced there had to be more going on than just "being anxious." It wasn't until she met a new group of friends who guided her down a path of understanding energy and intuition that her life changed and she was able to overcome this.
Today, Brittany owns Journeys: Holistic Wellness & Anxiety Relief Center in Simsbury, CT.; an anxiety relief, intuitive development & healing center to help others who suffer from anxiety/panic disorder, those who believe in the unseen to tap into their intuitive selves, and to help people grow, find empowerment, manifest like a boss, and heal from wherever it is they feel stuck.

Ren's story isn't one that just came to Brittany; it's a story she lived. Most of what you read about in the adventure-filled series are experiences that are very real, that actually happened as it is entirely based on Brittany's life, and people she has met along the way. The series is one that's dwelled inside Brittany since she was a child, but couldn't be told until she finished living it for herself.

  • Musican and SongwriterSarah McAdams from 8-9pm and Author Dana Davis from 9-10
8-9 Musican and Songwriter Sarah McAdams:
We are currently crowdfunding for our upcoming album and for our impending tour in August, and we are asking for your support via financial backing and/or sharing the links! Here's a bit about why.
Our lead singer, Sarah, while dealing with mental health issues therefore put off work and sent back to her home in Fredericton, New Brunswick turned to her best friends for support, including her brother-from-another-mother and duo-mate Greg. Greg had been living out west working hard to make a good life for himself and his daughter, back home in NB. One night Greg called Sarah saying that after two years he couldn't stand being away from his friends, his family, his local music scene and most importantly, his daughter, any longer. Music had always been a beautiful solace to them both and they had been playing in a duo together off and on for a decade, and so in their mutual need of "something to make it all worth it", Greg made the decision to move back east with the plan of starting a rock band together. (He actually booked his ticket that night!)
Brian (lead guitar, cat aficionado) was an obvious choice to add to the group as he, Greg and Sarah had been friends longer than any of them could remember, and Brian is beyond good - his solos make people feel. Deep feels. (And he and Greg once played in a band together that featured Brians cat.)
From 9-10 PM We will be joined by Author Dana Davis :
Dana Davis is an award-winning author of fantasy and science fiction, with an entertainment background in stage and television. When she is not writing, she loves to read, hike, travel, and investigate purportedly haunted locations. Dana lives in Los Angeles with her husband, where she is currently writing another book.
