  • Episode 34: Holiday Survival Guide

It's upon us, y'all! The most stressful, er - WONDERFUL, time of the year! Holidays are so fun and filled with many of our favorite things, but can also be hard with all the things and all the people. Johnna and Laura have put together some tips to help you navigate all the family and friend gatherings that push our buttons and can cause us to be less-than-jolly during the holiday season!

Johnna shares her go-to appetizer/dessert recipe:

1 8 oz cream cheese (softened)

    1 jar caramel sauce
Crushed Heath Bar or toffee topping
Apple slices (or graham cracker sticks, depending on how healthy you're feeling)

Spread cream cheese into small baking dish or other holiday platter. Pour 3/4 of jar of caramel sauce over the top. Sprinkle candy topping over the caramel layer. Serve with apple slices.

Laura's favorite Strawberry Pretzel Salad puts all the other congealed salads to shame! Check out this step-by-step recipe from Allrecipes.com:

  • Episode 33: Cheater Cheater Pumpkin Eater
Happy Halloween, ATG friends! We hope you get all your favorite candies from your kids' trick-or-treat bags tonight!
Today's episode was inspired by Laura's push into the final weeks of the semester and the recent news surrounding Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman's college scandal woes. Let us first say, we aren't perfect parents, but we do hope to not only TEACH but also MODEL behaviors that are ethical and moral for our kids. And honestly, let them learn to handle there own business. Join us as we chat through some topics that are no treat!
Laura shares her favorites for the week which are Michelle Obama's book, Becoming, and (a shameless plug!) her Noonday Collection Adwa Foldover Clutch. It's worth the purchase just to enjoy the smell of its yummy leather! Johnna also has a book recommendation, The Nightengale by Kristen Hanna and she's loving her OPI "Thrill of Brazil" red polish for the fall.
Be sure to listen to the very end to stay "in the know" about some upcoming changes to All Things Good!

  • Episode 32: Teen Dating Survival Guide...for Parents

Raise your hand if you're just not ready for this phase of life! On today's episode, Johnna and Laura invite their good friend, Jennifer Jensen (AKA as "JJ"), to share some of her tips for navigating teen dating. She's the mom of both a college-aged young man and a soon-to-graduate-high-school young woman -- so she's seen both sides and knows some things.

As always, they wrap up with their favorites and invite JJ to join the fun, too! Jennifer shares her latest read, The Testaments (a sequel to the super popular "A Handmaiden's Tale" series), and her favorite toothbrush that lets you know exactly when you can stop brushing. Johnna's loving her office renovation courtesy mostly of IKEA and her initial necklace from Nordstrom. Laura has found what she thinks might be the perfect wallet - it holds everything, has a zippered change compartment AND holds her phone, too! WHAT??!

We are so grateful for each and everyone one of you! If you're loving the podcast, we'd LOVE for you to leave a rating/review over at Apple iTunes! It would help us so much!

Johnna's loving Brooks and Dunn's collaboration with Kacey Musgrave for a new take on the country class, "Neon Moon." • Episode 30: Moves, Medicals and Mums. Oh My!

"It's the 1st of tha month!" If you sang that in your best Bone Thugs N Harmony voice, you're our people! We wanted to do a little catch-up session because, well, there's a lot going on over here. Johnna has started some new meds, and they have just about taken her down. And if it wasn't the meds, we'll just blame Dave Ramsey. Laura's family is (finally!) in their new home! Can we get some praise hands in the air?! And both ladies have survived (maybe not thrived?) their first Homecoming -- better known now as "HoCo" -- festivities with their boys. Buckle in and pull out those spreadsheets! It's an update episode!

Johnna shares a new podcast she's loving called "Be There in Five" and her favorite new pants from Old Navy. Laura's loving her new Shark hand-held vac for keeping those new floors tidy, and she has completely binged the Dr. Death podcast on her commute. It's alarming, y'all.

Thanks for being with us for our 30th episode! Crazy! If you haven't taken time to leave a rating or review, please hop on over to iTunes and give us your feedback! We'd love to hear from you, and it helps other people find us!

Last week wasn't enough, y'all! We're coming back with you this week for Part II of this conversation about church hurt. We're sharing more of your experiences and talking through how we move past our hurts to stay in fellowship and continue walking in faith.

Johnna shares her favorite face mask: Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask. Laura just received her 2020 edition of her favorite planner ever...and she's tried nearly all of them. Emily Ley's Daily Simplified Planner has her heart...and don't forget the stickers, y'all!

  • Episode 28: Ouch! My Church Hurt. Part I

Ok, friends. Hang on to your hats. This one gets deep...fast. Johnna and Laura are diving into the all-too-prevalent topic of church hurt. They have a guest appearance by their favorite preacher -- The Rev -- to help us all understand what it is and how to differentiate between "church hurt" and someone in the church hurting us. And then they share some of your experiences and hurts. It's sad to hear so many people have experienced church hurt, but we are thankful for His receptive power to help us forgive and move forward in our faith.

And as always, the ladies are finding the good and bring two of their favorites. Johnna shares the skinny on a great puffy coat with fur trim from Walmart, and Laura dishes on her latest podcast obsession: Joe Exotic.

Join us next week as we finish Part II this discussion!
