Welcome to the first installment of Everyday Leaders on All You!
Everyday Leaders is a series of interviews with everyday people living with exceptional character. These are people you've never heard of, but they're the ones on the ground making the world a better place through their leadership.
Alejandro (Ali) Castro is a Ventura County firefighter, and just happens to be my boyfriend's brother-in-law. We talk about his journey to becoming a firefighter, from discouraging experiences as a high school student looking to learn more about the job, to sleeping in his car while completing paramedic school, and making it through the grueling interview and training process before finally getting hired into his station.
I have no doubt that you'll be inspired by Ali's dedication and resilience, and I can say without a doubt that he is a powerful and gracious presence in the world.
Do you know someone who shows up with integrity, vision, and commitment in everything they do? Someone who makes you say, "if the world was full of people like them, we'd be in pretty good shape"? Shoot me an email or reach out to me on social to nominate someone in your life who should be featured on Everyday Leaders.
