  • Chat Noir Mystery and Suspense-with author Kathleen Y'Barbo Turner
    Kathleen Y'Barbo Turner: Website : http://kathleenybarbo.com
She has written over 80 books and won a ton of awards, though there’s still way too much room on her award shelf in my humble opinion. She’s won a RITA and been a Carol award nominee. Over one million copies of her books are currently in print in the US and abroad and translated into Dutch, German and Spanish.
She graduated from Texas A&M and holds a BBA from the University’s Mays Business School and a certification in Paralegal Studies.
And if that wasn’t enough, she’s a 10th generation Texan with four grown children and seven bonus kids she inherited when she married her hero in combat boots. More on that story. (I was in on that! Linda Kozar)

  • Historically Speaking Exploring Montana's Ghost Towns
Today on Historically Speaking, we're taking a turn into history and visiting Bannack MT, the first town in the new Montana Territory.
    Bannack Days: http://bannack.org/bannack-days
Easy drive, gorgeous, from the I-90 either at the Whitehall exit or Twin Bridges.
Besides the beauty of the area, Bannack visitors get to explore inside most of the buildings. You can also camp right there along a river in a state park campsite.
You'll need a full day to visit Bannack, be sure to bring a picnic! Also bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray. Go early to avoid the hot afternoons.
Famous story originating in Bannack is the double life of Henry Plummer, sheriff by day and leader of road bandit gangs by night!

  • Chat Noir Mystery and Suspense, Guest Carla Hoch, Fight-Writer Author
    Carla Hoch: http://fightingwrite.blogspot.com/p/about-me_3.html
Moments before the destruction of her home planet, Carla's parents jettisoned her and her twin brother to earth. He was taken in by a kindly farmer in Kansas while she was embraced by a rather liberal clowder of feral cats in Houston, Texas.
While still a toddler, she bid farewell to her feline family and headed to Pace, Florida, a small hamlet just outside Pensacola. There she raised herself in a hollowed out tree trunk and taught herself to speak fluent Southern, ride out a hurricane like a pro and tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi by fizz alone.
As an adult, she fulfilled the dream of all feral cats and became a Spanish teacher and track coach. After nearly a decade in the classroom, she met a military cyborg who promptly married her and whisked her away to such exotic locations as Virginia and New Mexico. Now, a mother of twins herself, she and her husband have returned to the People's Holy Republic of Texas and reside not far from where her pod originally landed.
Unlike her twin, Clark, Carla found her powers late in life. She was first introduced to them through a Hapkido based self defense class. From there she went on to train in MMA, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, street defense and is currently a student of Brazilian Jiujitsu and Sayoc. She has also assisted her coach Eddie Avelar (not altogether human himself) in the teaching of self defense. With him she continues the study of *street defense - or whatever he happens to throw at her. Literally. Sometimes he literally throws things at her.

  • Along Came A Writer, Guest Athena Dean Holtz, Author & Cult Survivor
    About Author Athena Dean Holtz:http://athenadeanholtz.com
"I've spent the past 30 years in the book publishing industry, as co-founder and former owner of WinePress Publishing, I pioneered the independent publishing movement in the Christian book industry. I was blessed to spend a year as a radio personality on “Always Faithful Radio” a live radio program for women on AM 630 KSLR in San Antonio, TX where I served as broadcast missionary under Commission to Every Nation. Now I'm hosting the same show on AM 630 KCIS in Seattle, WA Fridays at 1PM PST. I am also a cult survivor, twice over. Once before I became a Christian I got sucked into and escaped from the Church of Scientology. After my salvation experience in 1986, I was lured into a legalistic, toxic, abusive Christian cult called Sound Doctrine. Ever since I walked away from this traumatic experience I've not been afraid to stand up and tell my story. It's created an immense backlash online by my abusers, but I have nothing to hide. I've learned a lot from that experience and God has taught me a great deal about why I was vulnerable in the first place. He has also given me great insights into deceivers and those who have been deceived as a result. I've written four books including my memoir, "Full Circle: Coming Home to the Faithfulness of God," "Consumed by Success: Reaching the Top and Finding God Wasn’t There," and "All That Glitters Is Not God." The most exciting thing that's happened to me recently is I married Ross Holtz, founding pastor of The Summit, an Evangelical Free Church. That means I'm now a pastor's wife...who knew? We now have a combined family of six sons, two daughters and 17 grandchildren, and absolutely LOVE boating and RVing. We live in Enumclaw where a large percentage of our grandkids live as well."

My guest today is award-winning author Brandilyn Collins. WEBSITE: http://brandilyncollins.com
"When I was a kid I never thought I'd grow up to kill people for a living. Neither did my lovely mother, who often wondered where she went wrong. Fortunately for my victims, the killing is only in my books. I’m best known for my trademarked Seatbelt Suspense®. These novels come with a four-point brand promise: fast-paced, character-driven suspense with myriad twists and an interwoven thread of faith. My contemporary novels delve into deep issues, some with humor. Now and then I venture from behind my computer and teach fiction at writers’ conferences. I’m also an inspirational keynote speaker. I love to interact with readers. The best place to find me on a daily basis is at my Facebook page , where I post Today's Word, crazy "Creative Captioneer" pictures, book sale news (mine and other authors'), topics of interest, and who knows what else."
*Drawings for book giveaways awarded exclusively to recipients in the continental United States.
