In this podcast, I give you the 411 on dieting. Understanding calories, macronutrients, different dieting approaches, diet fads, my approach to dieting, and of course, how to structure a diet with macros that work for you.

I go over the basics of calories: calorie maintenance, surplus and deficit, as well as what the pros and cons in each of those caloric approaches are. From calories, I explore macronutrients, what each macro does for the body, as well as the foods that are heavy in a particular macronutrient.

Then I jump into fad diets that consume our social media and the tabloids: keto, paleo, fasting, and many more. From there, I explain the flexible dieting approach that I take and the importance of building a healthy relationship with food.

Finally, I review my self-named Bamboo Principle in dieting and give you the tools to understand what’s important when it comes to your diet, then I do a segment on sample macros a person could have with my approach. With these macros, I speak briefly on weighing yourself as a critical component to understanding your calories.
