This is not an easy episode. And it’s not meant to be.
In this first entry of Am I the Trauma?, I’m speaking about my earliest experiences with abuse… what it looked like, how it hid inside something that was supposed to be safe, and how grooming doesn’t announce itself — it slowly rewrites your reality until you don’t even have language for what’s happening.
We talk about family. Silence. Confusion. The moments your body knew before your mind did.
And what it means to grow up carrying something you were never meant to hold.
This isn’t just a story… it’s a starting point. Because trauma doesn’t end where it happened — it shows up in your relationships, your desire, your boundaries, your sense of self.
If you’ve ever questioned your own memory, your reactions, or why your body responds the way it does… this episode is for you.
Take your time with this one.

Am I The Trauma? is a podcast about trauma, survival, sex, shame, patterns, and all the weird little ways the nervous system keeps the score long after the plot should’ve ended.
I’m a trauma-informed therapist, writer, and, frankly, a very qualified narrator of my own chaos. In this podcast, I talk through the things that happened to me... honestly, intelligently, and without pretending trauma always looks tragic and easy to recognise. Sometimes it looks hot. Sometimes it looks high-functioning. Sometimes it looks like you being “fine” for ten years.
This is part personal story, part psychological deep dive, part public life experiment.
Basically... I’m telling the truth out loud and seeing what it unlocks in other people.

I just uploaded something special for you—a voice note, soft and raw, reading one of my favourite excerpts from The Train to Nowhere.
It’s the kind of scene that holds its breath.
The kind where the air shifts. Where two people stop pretending, and something real begins.
This isn’t just a spicy little moment (though… it is).
It’s tenderness with teeth. Desire wrapped in safety.
It’s what happens when a trans man and a pan woman stop performing and start choosing.
🎧 Go listen. Close your eyes. Let it sink in.
🛒 The Train to Nowhere is now available in print on Amazon.
📥 And the eBook is waiting for you at GinkgoMinds.com.
Thank you for being here. For craving stories that hold softness and heat in the same breath.

If eye contact during sex makes you flinch or shut down—this is for you.
Avoidant attachment meets intimacy, and the body says: not safe.
Reflection prompt:
What happens in me when someone really sees me?

If you've ever gotten off to something that looks like your trauma — and then spiralled — this one's for you.
It’s about arousal, shame, roughness, and what it actually means when survivors crave what once hurt.
🔪 Not all desire is dysfunction.
Some of it is reclamation.
Some of it is grief.
Some of it is power.

You don’t need to be fixed because you like it rough.
You don’t need to be ashamed of your fantasies.
And you definitely don’t need to keep performing soft sex just to prove you’re “healed.”
This one’s for the survivors, the kink-curious, the ones who still collapse after pleasure — and the ones ready to stop calling it dysfunction when it might be reclamation.
We talk:
→ Fantasy as survival
→ Kink negotiation for trauma brains
→ How to map your nervous system into pleasure
→ And why your desire might be your loudest truth
This post is a full rage voice note.
No purity politics. No shame. No pretending.

Hey love,
this one's called “You Can’t Manifest Out of Trauma.”
Because I know the world keeps telling you to think positive, to vibe higher, to just believe bigger.
But if your body’s still in survival mode—none of that’s going to land.
This is about the real work. The raw work.
Where you stop trying to override your pain and start listening to it.
Let’s go there together.
Press play when you're ready.

What if the first time they crossed your boundary
never actually ended?
What if your body’s still living there—
in the freeze, the silence, the smile you learned to fake
so they wouldn’t leave?
This week’s Patreon voice note is about the moment I realised I wasn’t making empowered choices—I was still choosing safety over truth.
Not because I’m broken.
But because my body never got to finish the story.
We’re going into trauma, touch, dissociation, and why survival adaptations can look a lot like self-abandonment in disguise.
🖤 For the ones who’ve done the work—
but still flinch when it’s time to be real.
Now live.

At some point, I had to admit it:
What I called boundaries were just trauma responses with prettier language.
Walls dressed up as “standards.”
Disconnection disguised as self-worth.
Because I didn’t feel safe.
I just felt defended.
This week’s Patreon voice note is a deep dive into the difference between real, embodied boundaries—and the walls we build to avoid getting hurt again.
If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re protecting your peace or just rehearsing loneliness—this one’s for you.
