Randy Twiehoff, Faribault bell ringing coordinator and three ringers from this past season related stories of their adventures. Nancy Decoux is a long time Faribault resident but never knew much about the Rice County Salvation Army. She did 11 shifts at Hy Vee in Faribault. Amy Lubrant from Reliance Bank and Ken Weaverling with Community Resource Bank also shared their experiences while covering multiple shifts. Twiehoff announced on the program they came up just under $4,000 short of their $100,000 goal. After the show Community Resource and Reliance officials told KDHL they were going to make up the difference to get them to the goal.

We learn some details about the new owner of the iconic Erickson Furniture. Now Erickson Family Furniture, The Heart of the Home in downtown Faribault. Anan says he wants to continue the tradition Paul Erickson and his family started in 1956 by providing quality furniture at reasonable prices.

Julie Fakler and Dave Nichols, Executive Directors of PCA and RCHS respectively gave specifics concerning a Volunteer Fair this Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Buckham West in Faribault. There are two different time frames for people to stop by and learn about volunteer needs from approximately 20 non-profits in the area.

District 19 Senator John Jasinski says fraud will definitely be a topic of conversation during the upcoming state legislative session which starts February 17. He credited the Trump Administration with focusing on the issue recently giving it more attention by the media, Jasinski said his colleagues have been trying since 2018 to get the Walz Administration to address the issue.

Mayor Spooner says the first council chat of 2026 will be held in January at recently opened Viaduct Park and finances will be the biggest challenge for the city in 2026. John Sherwin told us the last snow emergency resulted in a number of vehicles being towed. It's something they don't like to do but the most efficient way to clear the streets of snow is to clear them of vehicles. No parking is allowed on any city streets when a snow emergency is declared. This program did have a technical glitch so it is not here in it's entirety.
