And if you are lucky, if you are lucky, like Alina is in this book, who is the other character in the book. People show up for you, even those who you were not expecting to show up for you. So Laura also shows up for a lot of other people in the book, especially children. You would assume she wouldn't, but she does."

"I'm going to read the books and watch the movies at the same time so it's gonna be a Lord of the Rings summer for me. If you're not a Lord of the Rings fan, I recommend just reading a book that you love that you have not read in a long time. Even if it's a childhood book or a slower book, just pick it up, go back, remember why you love it."

"He's a commentator on various soccer related shows, he is a podcaster, he is a former star player for Arsenal Football Club, but really he's just a champion of people. He is an incredible human being and I think that that's reflected in sort of his media rise to fame in England. You know, he was a player for a soccer team, but now he's sort of like a household name to some extent because of all of the great work he does."

"A great read is Barbara Kingsolver. Any one of her books. But the one I want to recommend is one I just finished, Demon Copperhead, and it won a Pulitzer Prize a couple years ago. It's just such an incredible sort of journey into why someone might get hooked on drugs and how they might not ever get off them unless something beautiful happens in their life or some revelation happens in their life."

"I think an important book to be reading this summer would be anything by Taylor Jenkins Read. I think those are the most fun books to read in the summer, like Evelyn Hugo, Dee Dee Jones and the Six. Malibu Rising. There's a perfect, easy to understand book. Spring on the beach by the Pool. Perfect, perfect books for summer."

"Reading Evelyn Hugo and the wives made me want to call my best friend so badly because she read it, and I just was obsessed with it. And the turning points in the book. I couldn't believe that person interviewing them was their daughter. And just the turning points in the book are so good. I love Evelyn Hugo, and that's kind of what that makes me want to just talk about and join book clubs and just be more into more historical fiction books like that."
