We spoke about the products we intend to build and currently working on. Alou is developing a product for digital nomads. Ron is developing a blog in Python/Django and discussed what his common hurdles are. 

We think that building these products will help us in different ways, one is with passive income then the other is with staying consistent in coding…as for Ron’s project. He is sticking to coding it out instead of using one of those website builder tools. 

Progress doesn't come without struggle.

🎉2024 guys! We in the new year and back with Amateur builders. We hope you had a great 2023 as we did. It’s crazy to think a whole year went by and it felt like a blur. 

In 2024 let’s make each moment count as we strive towards our goal of becoming better individuals whether you're striving for financial freedom, self development, spiritual / religious calling, or a myriad of life-changing events. Amateur builders wish you all success in your endeavors. 

Take action ; Stay committed, become obsessed with one particular subject. We learned that from the My First Million Podcast. Shaun went into ‘what if you become obsessed with one thing that makes you an expert in one year, what would that be?’. 

I pondered on that question and it led me to keep thinking of a particular skill in web development that I kept neglecting, ‘Python’. It is something I am considering becoming an expert in 2024.

🥳2024 baby! 

We are ecstatic about what the new year will bring for us as we continue to grow Amateur Builders. 

What can we expect from the Tech Industry next year? Well we made some predictions that we saw from others and our own. 

Snippet of predictions:

Amateur builders will have some slight format changes as me and Alou will do our own solo shows where we can discuss our own specialty, invite guests, or discuss a myriad of topics relevant to us and tech. 

Amateur Builders LIVE is still in development as we have some kinks to build out still. We will host live workshops for users to come to our center and build a digital product within 8 weeks or less. 

Finally, we want to just thank you for your support in listening to us daily. We want Amateur builders subscriber count to grow so share us with your friends, family, and colleagues who are into Tech. Just do it! Just build! 

This ep. was a bit of a round table discussion of topics we came across throughout the week. 

We roasted some websites from a design and sales copy perspective. I hope they don’t get upset 😅. 

Have y'all ever felt stuck on what to actually specialize in when it comes to what you would like to create digitally or even physically? You're not alone because it happens to us as we navigate this tech startup world. We do know that just creating content first and blogging (podcasting) can help in capturing some sort of attention. So here we are 😉. 

Reading several articles from the website Indie Hustle have me and Alou feigning to create one of these side hustles as individuals who are non-engineers are building tools and scaling them to $1K Monthly Recurring Revenue. THAT'S INSANE!

Several of them we spoken about in the last 2-3 episodes which yall show go check out as well 🔁. The marketing strategy is similar with all of them as well, posting content on twitter, reddit, facebook groups, etc.

Actually develop genuine relationships with a community. Repost influences content you find valuable so that you get noticed by those influencers, which they will see and maybe look into if your mention has some merits.

We spoke again about Ron’s side hustle on using Google Maps to find leads for his digital marketing services. We posted on Tiktok his first call and it went awful 😭. 

There was this user on reddit who documented his 15+ apps that he launched or built in 2023 and the lessons he learned. He made no sales. I DM’d him, hopefully I can get him and his team to maybe come on the pod. We chose our favorite from his list.

📢We had a great discussion in this ep on the recent tech news from last week and a interesting side hustle business Alou saw on Indie Hustle. We thought it would be ideal to share with you guys. Ron shared a similar side hustle business he plans to try out and see where he can get with that, we’ll give yall updates periodically. 

What if Artificial General Intelligence was achieved? Well there were conspiracy theories around the firing of Sam Altman due to this reason. A small team on a project at OpenAI known as Project Q or Q-star (*) was apparently dialed in on reaching AGI and might have reached it. We spoke about it and what the implications for humanity might be if we achieved this.

We developed another conceptual product but this time for the EdTech space. Alou thought it would be ideal to have a personalized version of digital courses catered towards a skill you would like to develop more. So he went about designing out a prototype. We have it linked in the show notes for your review. 

Ron went ahead with some Market Research to gauge how entrepreneurs would feel about it, maybe those who are in the EdTech Industry. He got feedback from one forum on reddit, r/startup, and it is linked in the show notes as well. We built a survey and put it out on Ron’s alumnus forum, Baruch College. We have about 8 responses and he did it since this morning. So we’ll keep it until maybe wednesday or tomorrow. 

We showed the results of it on video so check out our youtube channel for the product demo as well. Subscribe to us there for more episodes when we ideate on a concept. We have some good brand interactions coming down in the pipeline soon so stay tune and thank you for those who keep listening.

🤟Welcome back y'all. We were working on some scheduling changes as Ron’s weekend free’d up so we can now focus a bit more on the podcast’s episode submissions. We are thinking about Mondays to publish now as it gives us time to iterate on the next episode before publishing. 

So we started to seek problems we face each day and 1 of them Alou came across came from a recent driving🚗 experience here in the city. He went in on this one because I felt his emotions, I felt it lol. 

We won’t spoil it for you but the gist of the episode is a concept for drivers who are blocked in from double parkers. If you face this situation, you know how frustrating it can get if that person is away for a lengthy period and you have places to go, things to see 👀. 

FYI We created a Reddit community where we will cross-promote our socials and leave content for us to build a community with. Eventually we want to do IRL meetups with followers so we can just hang and talk Tech | Creative | Ideas.

We did a quick episode on post launch marketing strategies we found exciting to implement. We wouldn’t implement it by copying it directly but taking cues from the creative element of how it was done.
