The Amazon Prime Video App is now on Apple TV. Just go into your Apple TV and click on the Apps icon and search for Prime Video. Do not type in Amazon. Go figure, eh?

You will need an Apple TV 3rd Generation or newer, and you will need an Amazon prime account and then just sign in and the shows are at your finger-tips.

For Audio Description you will have to pause the show you are watching and then swipe down to media controls and then swipe to Audio and in the audio section you will find Language and then swipe down to English US and swipe down again to the next English US and single finger double tap and Audio description is on.

I put the new Prime Video App in the top row of my apps right next to Netflix. It may be cold here in Minnesota but having this new addition to my Apple TV warmed things up a bit especially with Audio Description working as well as it does.

Welcome back to a very special episode of that Blind tech show.

We’re very excited for two reasons one we’re scooping New Zealand on this,

at least we think we are because we’re hoping we’ll get this out before New Zealand does.

They’re used to unboxing everything first, and two it’s funny, Jeff it’s only 60 degrees in New York

but it’s freezing outside, because the Amazon Prime video app hit the Apple TV.

Jeff:

Yeah I knew something happened if I woke up today with zero degrees in Minnesota,

[laughing] so I knew something happened for it to be this cold.

Brian:

Yeah I just I was the one who said it’ll be uh I don’t know if hell will freeze over first or the app will come out and

Jeff:

[laughing] Not once. You said that more than once.

Brian [laughs]:

Well I’ve been- I’ve been wanting it for so long, because you know,

the only other way I personally had to play Amazon Prime video was on my iPhone,

and the speaker’s weren’t great. So I’ve been waiting to watch all the great described content they have on Amazon Prime video,

until I had something that I would play with great speakers.

So I was very excited when I-I- you called me to let me know that it’s a cold day out

because the Amazon Prime video app is finally here.

Jeff: I’m glad you said I called and didn’t just give you a nudge.

No, no you called me. But we didn’t bother to nudge Alison because you know,

she’s got a day job and she actually does something, so we’re recording this without Alison but we’re thinking of you

Jeff:

Wouldn’t that be nice? Not to have to do anything.

But when you get into your Apple TV go to the App Store and search for a prime video.

Do not type in Amazon, it will not give you anything, that was quite confusing at first.

Brian:

Well it’s funny, because when you told me you know to look for prime video;

I, I went to my Apple TV, and I went to the App Store, and I when I had to use the handy-dandy

Siri and say prime video and you know what it put in “prime prime.”
