As I sat in my backyard under the canopy, watching the birds feed from the bird feeders and eat the seeds that fell to the ground. A baby bird caught my attention. That's when the Holy Spirit quickened my spirit to observe the bird, and compare our lives to his.
When a mother bird has her baby and it's of age to leave the nest, it's called a Fledgling.
Fledgling (13-14 days old or older).
This bird is fully feathered. Its wings and tail may be short, and it may not be a great flyer, but it can walk, hop, or flutter. It has left the nest, though its parents may be nearby, taking good care of it.
Just like humans. When were babies, our parents take care of us. Once were of age, we leave home (nest). But if we ever need anything or any type of help, we know our parents are only a phone call away. There a nearby, to help us in time of need.
That made me think of the Father, who art in heaven. God is just like the mother bird and our parents. He is far away, but closer than a brother. He'll never leave us nor forsake us.
(Proverbs 18:24)NIV
One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Even though We've never seen Him, we know He's there. We can always feel His presence and hear His still small voice.
(1 Kings 19:11-13)
God’s Revelation to Elijah
11 Then He said, “Go out, and stand (A)on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord (B)passed by, and (C)a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire [a]a still small voice.
13 So it was, when Elijah heard it, that (D)he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. (E)Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
God is always nearby, taking good care of us. Even when we don't deserve it, His grace and mercy is sufficient. Just knowing that, should give us the courage to do anything. This should make us believe, that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
(Philippians 4:13)NKJV
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
"Baby Bird Courage!"
This is how we should live daily.
Dear Lord Jesus, I ask for your forgiveness of my sins. I believe You died & rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I accept You as my Lord & Savior.
(Romans 10:13)NIV
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
(Romans 10:9)NIV
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
(Acts 2: 38-39)NASB
38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
