The prayer of Jabez (Chr 4:9-10) holds great weight. This passage causes us to move into how we will be seen long after we have been here on the plant.  For Jabez, it was about his honor.  We don’t know why but know it to be true… we know it’s not sarcasm on the part of the Lord. Some of us hold world records for feats of strength and agility, some are recognized by their great minds and discoveries.  And yet there are also those who are held in a lesser esteem like Reuben, Jacob’s eldest.  Know this, we do not have to become the product of someone else’s experience; we can be identifiable through who are in Jesus Christ.  Knowing that He has changed us and lead us into great things, amen?!  The Scriptures say no weapon formed against you shall prosper, even those that were assigned to you at birth.

Jesus begins his ministry by stating that, “The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”  So, what does the kingdom to look like? Better yet, what did it look like in the OT?  Perhaps if we start with the heart of God we will be able to understand the idea of a kingdom. However, we are at a deficit in understanding kingdoms here in America because we’ve really never seen one. But is it true that we really don’t know about kingdoms when in our own hearts you and I have established a well-known kingdom called the Kingdom of Self?
