In the Creation account of Genesis, God forms both man and woman, they are made in His image and God blesses them. In today’s world the image of man being created by God’s image is being challenged.

There are statements that define the fundamental truths of God. The Assemblies of God have done so as do most other denominations.  Today we dive deeper into the Old and New Testament to examine the Theology of God by defining what The Unity of the One being of Father , Son and Holy Spirit is:

Accordingly, therefore, there is that in the Father which constitutes him the Father and not the Son; there is that in the Son which constitutes Him the Son and not the Father; and there is that in the Holy Spirit which constitutes Him the Holy Spirit and not either the Father or the Son. Wherefore the Father is the Begetter, the Son is the Begotten, and the Holy Spirit is the one proceeding from the Father and the Son. Therefore, because these three persons in the Godhead are in a state of unity, there is but one Lord God Almighty and His name one.

GENESIS 1:1

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Many false contenders have come along the way since the opening verse the first chapter in Genesis.  India, Africa, Europe and the Americas all have moved down the road of foolishness stating, “there is no God.”  It is foolishness to declare and try to believe there is no God.  The Word of God also states in the book of Romans 1:19-25:

19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

Sound doctrine, the authoritative teaching about God; a training up.  2 Timothy 4:3-4 brings a warning to those who are following God.

3 For the time is coming when [people] will not tolerate (endure) sound and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold,

4 And will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths and man-made fictions.

“Coming to the knowledge of truth….”   There are 5 divisions of Theology: Biblical, historical, systematic, dogmatic and practical.  We are living in a changing world, there are big questions that need to be answered, and skillful living is necessary for survival.

Today, we investigate the underlying current of control by men in the book of Judges, where they attempt to supersede the work of God Almighty.  In other words, false revival wants to push against what God has established.  When this happens the voice of a prophet rises to lead the people out (Jotham).  The city of Shechem is being rocked by the wickedness of Abimelech, who is Gideon’s concubine son.  Abimelech makes himself king and slays the 70 sons of Gideon on one stone and attempts a power grab over the region.  Destruction comes to the people of the region; they cannot decide who they should follow.  Does that sound familiar? We also look at the orphan spirit and what nullifies
