American Church Archives - Stand Up For The Truth Podcast

Mary chats with Dirk Smith today, Vice President of Eastern European Mission (EEM), begun in 1961 to get bibles into the hands of those living in the eastern Communist bloc nations. Their mission to get bibles into the hands of those still living in that region is going strong. Children, prisoners, average citizens – coming to learn of God’s plan of the ages to redeem mankind through the shed blood of our Savior. In the West, news of bibles and copies of the Ten Commandments going into public schools in Louisiana and Oklahoma is like a fresh wind blowing through the rotting school culture of the times. We talk about their publishing arm, new materials for children, and all the ways God is using EEM. An encouraging hour of good news. No matter how dark the hour, God is working.

Mary Danielsen chats with author and speaker William Federer, a walking history book about our American heritage. Today we discuss the topic of evil and the role of the church in combating it. Leaving a legacy of freedom for our children and grandchildren is wise and yet are we doing all we can to preserve our liberty? We can’t say that the church is doing nothing, we have no way to measure that; we are in the last days besides. But can we do more to be salt and light? Does the church really understand what wickedness is, what injustice is and how God hates it? An hour to challenge what some might describe as armchair Christianity. His latest book, “Silence Equals Consent”, can be found here.

Mary welcomes back pastor and author JB Hixson to discuss what can only be described as a “turn of the page” in the drama that is American politics. The latest plot twist is something that everyone will remember- where they were and what they were doing –  and also necessitates the need to continue to look for answers in a bizarre series of events. We talk about the state of the state and the clarification that the Trump shooting brings in the realm of great disunity, unlike anything we have seen – and it just may get worse. To vote, that is not the question, but is there such a thing as the lesser of two evils? We also look at Israel and the disgruntlement of the citizens of the north who feel abandoned by their government, sitting ducks who have to live with rockets and shelters around the clock. In addition, we look at the 2nd largest teachers’ union in America and their upcoming conference agenda.

Mary Danielsen chats with Debbie Wuthnow of iVoterGuide on getting educated about the candidates that best reflect our morals and mandates as believers. iVoterGuide is dedicated to equipping Americans to be informed and educated on the candidates and the process. Debbie is the vice-president of AFA Action and a member of the board. She has been with iVoter since 2011 and in that time, they have evaluated 13,000 candidates. In this important and contentious voting cycle, America appears to be at a critical juncture in so many ways. Issues such as right to life, religious liberty, immigration and inflation, to name a few, are very important to our citizenry, and yet there are so few answers and even more division. We talk about our responsibilities in the area of hard won freedom and also how to pray for our leaders, when often we neglect this responsibility because of the compromise of the politicians. A thoughtful hour.

Original Airdate 12/13/22 – (Former host) David Fiorazo and Mary Danielsen review recent church history going back to the seminaries, liberal theology, and the roots of the church growth movement. This led to what was known as the Emergent Church, and its teachings crept in and slithered through American Christianity infecting countless victims. They pushed compromise, ambiguity, tolerance, globalism, mysticism, and in some cases, universalism, leaving a path of destruction. The unbiblical, secular influence on American Christians has been great. Why discuss this? Because many listeners have no idea what led to the launch of Stand Up for the Truth podcast.

“Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints. For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.” Jude 1:3-4

A Christian Perspective on the Social Justice Movement – The world has gone through a paradigm shift, and we now find ourselves living in a “social justice world.” Many would believe that is a good thing and finally the world can rid itself of racism, poverty, and injustice. Even many Christians have come to embrace this “new” way of thinking and dealing with society’s problems. But as Christian believers, do we really understand what lies behind the social justice movement? And do we truly comprehend what the “fruit” of this cultural “revolution” will be to both our society and the church? This book navigates the turbulent social justice issue—from a Christian perspective.

We welcome back Kyle Peart and Flynn Huseby of Once Lost Ministries, apologists and evangelists who work tirelessly to bring truth and clarity to those caught up in false teaching. Today we discuss the Catholic faith and the various aspects that are unscriptural: Tradition, relics, sacraments, purgatory, and veneration of Mary. With all the religious aspects, extra-biblical focus and gospel of good works, how is it that a Catholic can never be assured of salvation? There is a lot of busy-ness, as in all religions, but none of it ever seems to produce the fruit of repentance and a biblical understanding of the new birth. We also discuss the ecumenical bent that has long been part of this huge denomination but we have to ask ourselves, to what end? Dominionism, or something more sneaky – the desire to bring all Protestants “home to Rome”. A thoughtful discussion that will hopefully open eyes to the vanity of religiousity.

Coach Dave Daubenmire

[Original airdate: 2/29/24] Guest host Scott Schara visits with Coach Dave. They discuss what he’s been doing with ‘staking’ government buildings, in the light of God having the ultimate authority over the anti-Christ systems. Dave sees his current obedience in light Joshua 1:3: I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.

We close the show discussing the Wisconsin Christian News ‘We Won’t Back Down’ event in Wausau, WI on April 12 and 13.

Chris Quintana

[Original airdate: 9/8/23] Chris Quintana of Old Path Ministries, Mary Danielsen and Crash Connell along with Dove award winning musician Bruce Carroll discuss disaster overload. Anyone who thinks the world will normalize is not thinking realistically, and yet people very much want to go back to some “restore point” and make it all go away. But is God trying to tell us something in the mayhem? More than likely. And that “something” is that the “end of all things is at hand” according to Peter. But that hope that God gives is designed to warn the ungodly and have a purifying effect on us if we are serving Him, watching and waiting. Traveling hopefully is certainly realistic, for the believer.

[Original airdate: 1/16/24) We chat with author, blogger and speaker Alisa Childers on the topic of “deconstructing” Christianity; what it is, why it’s destructive and how to respond. With terms like “ex-vangelical” and “toxic” faith/Christianity/church being tossed around, it would appear we have a postmodern exit demographic to deal with. Is it anti-authority, the desire to not be “hemmed in” by moral imperatives, or is it something different? Counselors are standing by, not because they care about the person’s salvation, but rather getting them what they want – to be free of the Christianity they have been exposed to or raised in. In a way, it’s not surprising but at the same time, the bible tells us there is only ONE way to heaven, and that’s through Jesus Christ and what His death and resurrection mean and require of us. A thought provoking discussion designed to help those who might know and love someone in this process.
