I am immensely impressed by Kennedy’s work and vision in The Book of the Scribe. In what reads to me as a received or inspired text, the book conveys a sense of purification, discipline, purpose, renewal of spirit, and rededication that I feel is refreshing, clear, lucid, and beneficial. It recollects the majesty of ancient wisdom while still appreciating modernity and technology in its proper context. This is one of the first spiritual books I’ve read that made me feel like it’s possible to move forward into an age of wonder without abandoning the project of modernity altogether.
