So much happened in such a short period of time. Let's take a moment to review and take a deep breath.
Since the insurrection on January 6th 2021 many people in the media and in Washington have called for national healing and unity. With Joe Biden and Kamala Harris set to take office, the senate being lead by democrats and Donald Trump being impeached for a second time what does it all mean for the senate trial? What does healing look like for America? Should Joe Biden intervene with due process a la Ford after Nixon resigned in the 1970s.
White supremacy is the DNA of America and it is important that we call the beast it's ugly and divisive nature. White supremacy needs to understand that it is not in charge and collectively we all need to move forward. Awareness and Action is the goal.
On Wednesday January 6, 2020 the United States capitol was breached by a mob of Trump supporters. This act of terrorism compromised our national security and jeopardizes the safety of all Americans for the immediate future. Conspirators, agitators and enablers must be held accountable for their participation.
Happy New Year! The state of the union has not changed much, the president remains relentless in efforts to overthrow the democratic process and more monkeys have joined his circus. Make sure your elected officials aren't trying to sabotage democracy.
In a word, elected officials have been cruel to the American people during this pandemic year. One would think congress would be eager to make sure the American people are cared for. However, senate republicans and the president have their interest elsewhere. The lack of regard for the American people is criminal and there's a list of house members and senators that need to be voted out soon as they are up for re-election.
I was appalled when I discovered how much US Senators make. The pay increases over the last 40 years are earth shattering. And, when you compare senator salaries against federal minimum wage, there needs to be an overhaul. Immediately.
The founding fathers were concerned about the distribution of power, do they distributed governing power among three branches. These branches of government serve as a checks and balance to the others. The founding fathers perspective on absolute power being held with one entity was spot on, however, there are some areas within these balances that need to be refreshed.
