The first nine-game slate of 2024 is here, and we jump into all our selection and positioning questions. One overarching point we hope to follow: how will the clubs who played last week fare against those who didn't? We have four such games coming up in Round 1.

Why, yes, it's extremely easy for two brothers to string out a discussion of four games to nearly an hour. Opening Round did have a full slate's worth of storylines, though — from high attendance in NSW and QLD, to one ruck's domination and another's zaniness, and in between all that a comeback/collapse combination that we'll likely remember at season's end. Plus, Benjamin is validated for his prior talking points, and Ethan opens up the goal song discussion again.

It's the last part of our club-by-club breakdowns — and our first episode affected by a power outage! Some incredible coincidences occurred as we went through this session, and you'll take them all in as we give our takes on probably the juiciest sextet of teams in this three-episode arc.

In the middle episode of our team-by-team preview, we bestow a new nickname, bemoan bagpipes, and bring back the sound bite-heavy approach. Enjoy!

At long last, we are back to begin our third season! We start things out by returning to the familiar: team-by-team previews ahead of the upcoming season. We spin a wheel for random order, so stay tuned to find out when your club comes up!

We reach the end of this mini-series and our second season, with a good balance of respect for players' seasons and our typical American irreverence. This episode is dedicated firstly to Mark Keane, and secondly to the Kansas Jayhawks football team.

Our “Best by Number”… count-up (I guess that’s right) continues with the middle of the AFL number range — and as many sound bites as we’ve ever had in an episode. Benjamin counts two dozen different clips he’s added in post thanks to his and his brother’s tomfoolery. One more to go for this series and our second season!
