Our Lions certainly don’t like doing things the easy way! We also apparently don’t like travelling to New South Wales, with Saturday’s Qualifying Final loss at the SCG making it three losses in the Harbour City this year, coming in at an average losing margin of 58 points. The good news is that we don’t have to go back to Sydney this year. The bad news is that it’s sudden death from this point onwards. The even worse news is that we might get knocked out by the worst club in the comp - the stain on the AFL that is the Adelaide Crows. This week on the podcast: -Has a path opened for Linc’s premiership fairytale to come true? -Ty Gallop vs Darcy Gardiner - Take #2 -Dom officially makes his 2026 Premiership bet And much more! Here we go again. After a long, barren nine-year finals drought from 2010 to 2018, we now remarkably enter our eighth consecutive finals series. And as September begins, the most extraordinary possibility sits ahead of us. Our Lions stand on the precipice of one of the most remarkable achievements in the history of Australian sport: Two hat trick dynasties two decades apart. As we enter the month where legends are made and history is written, we've got a massive episode of the podcast. This week: -The club's GM of Football Danny Daly joins us -Will Ashcroft's All Australian snub -The perfect Premiership merch idea (courtesy of Aaron) And much more! We are here thanks to Kartable - Planning for later or needing now? Streamlined pricing and procurement for all of your trade materials, supporting services & site deliveries. Go Lions!

On the 30th of May, the Lions lost their sixth game for the season against Fremantle at the Gabba, sinking to a 6 and 6 record with wildcard finals looking our best hope. It led to all of us just about ruling out a top four finish, realising that we could probably only afford to lose one more game for the entire season for that to be possible. Who would’ve known that that would be exactly what we’d do. 10 wins and 1 loss later, and the Lions have finished the home & away season in the top four for the sixth time in Chris Fagan’s era. And now, as a hint of spring returns to the air, we know the bit that comes next very well. September is nearly here, and finals anxiety is about to go off the charts once again. Three more wins from here, and the Brisbane Lions, once more, will have gone back to back to back. This week on the podcast: -The Lions have 6 players in the All Australian Squad -Who’s more likely to get a Grand Final fairytale - Kiddy or Linc? -Our thoughts on the wildcard matchups The Roar Deal is sponsored by Kartable. 198 home & away games, 15 Lions wins, two or three emotional crashes on the Roar Deal, and after all of it, we find ourselves in a familiar situation: It’s all coming down to the final round. After another late season QClash fizzer, we return to the MCG as we near the end of August. Hopefully we’ll be doing the same at the end of September, with this Friday night’s game against Collingwood set to play an enormous role in determining what our finals run might look like. Remarkably, with one game to go, both a 3rd place finish and a qualifying final at the SCG and a 7th place knockout final at the Gabba are still on the table. Welcome to the Roar Deal, with the ladder predictor due to get a big workout in the week ahead with so many possibilities still on the table. This week on the show: -Ruby Svarc joins the show after a dominant win over Essendon -Which Lions will make the All Australian squad? -Go to haveyoursay.statedevelopment.qld.gov.au to suggest a Chris Fagan statue! And much more! The Roar Deal is sponsored by Kartable. Planning for later or needing now? Streamlined pricing and procurement for all of your trade materials, supporting services & site deliveries.
